Following that, you’ll face one of the toughest bosses Monster Hunter Wilds has to offer. It’s going to be a difficult battle, and you might need some help defeating Omega Planetes when you encounter it for the first time.
How to Find Omega Planetes in Monster Hunter Wilds
To begin the crossover event, travel to Iceshard Cliffs and speak with Rove. This will initiate a battle against a unique Nerscylla. After defeating it, you’ll meet Alpha, a very cute chocobo, and Omega, a small robot. They’ll inform you about the danger of a huge metal monster called Omega Planetes. After speaking with these two new friends, you can talk to Omega whenever you’re ready to start the quest to hunt down Omega Planetes.
How to Defeat Omega Planetes in Monster Hunter Wilds
With the simpler tasks finished, you’ll now face a real challenge: defeating this huge enemy to progress in the Final Fantasy 14 Monster Hunter Wilds crossover event. Omega Planetes is a very tough boss, so it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with its attacks and vulnerabilities before you try to fight it.
Omega Planetes is weak to:
- The Blast status ailment
- Its Forelegs are weak to both Blunt and Piercing damage
- Its Hindlegs are weak to Slashing damage
- Its Power Unit, located at the back of it, is weak to both Slashing and Blunt damage
- It is weakest to Thunder elemental damage in Monster Hunter Wilds
All Omega Planetes Attacks
- Delta Attack: Omega Planetes summons a modified Nerscylla; if you do not down this Nerscylla quickly, it will wipe your team in this RPG with a high skill ceiling.
- Baby Attack: Omega Planetes can make tiny versions of itself that blow up, and it spawns a lot of them.
- Laser: It also has a laser attack that will target anyone who has Enmity.
- There is also a multi-laser attack that fans out to hit around it.
- A third laser attack makes circular patterns, attacking from the left or from the right.
- Flames: Omega can attack with an AoE of fire, and it will inflict Fireblight.
- Fire Bomb: Inflicts Fireblight at one target with a fire bomb that follows you.
- There is also a multi-bomb version that tosses fire bombs all around.
- Rockets: These rockets launch with a lock-on to one hunter.
Other notable information:
- Its strongest point is its torso, so avoid it as much as possible
- Guard Up is a great tool for blocking its massive attacks
- It has a group wipe; if you don’t kill the Nerscylla it summons, it will wipe your whole team with its Delta Attack
- Always take this monster on in a group of four; without co-op in Monster Hunter Wilds, this fight is impossible.
