Blake Lively Shares Rare Look Inside Her and Ryan Reynolds’ Home

Spotted: Blake Lively’s at-home pastry shop.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m *dying*! Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively just gave us a peek inside her amazing home, and it’s everything! But the best part? She baked the *cutest* little bunny-shaped cake for one of her and Ryan Reynolds’ daughters! Seriously, how sweet is that?! I need that cake in my life, and I need to live in their kitchen. It’s just… perfection!

Blake shared a touching story on her Instagram post from Oct. 2. She’d found a beautiful quote on a much-loved childhood stuffed animal that read, ‘To be loved, is to be changed forever.’ “This bunny has been so loved, so purely for so long,” Blake wrote, explaining that she was comparing her cake to the worn-out toy. “She is a family member. So of course, I had to turn her into cake,” she added.

Originally, Blake didn’t intend to make an edible rabbit. The 38-year-old-who shares children James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2, with Ryan-first started “making a vanilla cake.” But when she found the toy, she changed plans and decided to create “a Cinnabon bun flavored cake,” as a sweet tribute to her daughter’s “favorite treat.”

Although the It Ends With Us actor didn’t say which of her daughters prompted this recipe, it’s clear she was very careful and thoughtful when making it.

She described making a cream cheese pound cake – she wanted it to be moist but also have a nice, crisp exterior. She baked it as two sheet cake layers and added cinnamon to the batter. “Then I made a cinnamon butter sugar filling, similar to what you’d use for cinnamon buns, and spread it between the cake layers as icing,” she explained, showing each step with photos.

Rather than leave the toy its original blue, Blake used the “cream cheese icing” to give her cake a white and pale yellow color. She also filled the edible bunny’s ears with sprinkles, and even added a little heart to its face.

As for how she grades the creation?

“New. Favorite. Cake.,” she gushed. “So. SO. Good.”

Besides finding inspiration for her cooking in her children’s toys, Blake Lively is known for going above and beyond for her family. During a family vacation to Austin in March, the Another Simple Favor actress shared a story about how she made sure her child’s feet were protected.

She wrote in an Instagram post that month, “Your child leaves their shoes behind, but you remember yours, so you naturally give them yours. That’s the mom hack! Paper bags [check], no shoes [check], no problem [check].”

Reynolds shared a funny story on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, saying he’s watched Frozen countless times with his daughters. He joked that if you were to play Frozen in reverse, it would turn out to be a scene-for-scene recreation of The Exorcist.

On December 15, 2016, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively publicly introduced their daughters, James and Inez, for the very first time. This happened at Reynolds’ Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony – a place where celebrities who generally keep their families private often choose to present their children to the world. During his acceptance speech, Reynolds turned to his wife and said, “You make everything better-truly everything in my life. You’ve given us two wonderful children, more than I could have ever wished for. You’ve made me the father I always dreamed of being, even though I thought I was only good at being a fun uncle.”

Back in August 2016, before their second daughter was born, Ryan Reynolds shared with TopMob News, “Having a baby is the most centering experience imaginable. It’s truly the greatest thing that could happen to a person.”

Being a parent definitely has its messy moments – like getting covered in poop and vomit – but it’s also incredibly rewarding,” the new mother shared with NW Magazine in 2016. “Even on the hard days when I’m completely tired, I remind myself just how lucky I am.”

While on the Late Show with David Letterman in 2015, Reynolds enthusiastically spoke about his wife and daughter, but he also clarified who held the top spot in his heart. He said, “I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you,” explaining that he’d tell this to his wife. However, he added that the instant he saw his baby’s face, he realized that if they were ever in danger, he would protect the child even by using his wife as a shield.

Staying true to his dry wit, Reynolds posted this funny observation about parenting on Twitter back in 2016: “Becoming a dad is the best feeling imaginable. Except for all those great years *before* having kids, naturally.”

“I consistently handle the less pleasant tasks,” Reynolds stated on NBC’s Today show in 2016. “I’m glad to take care of those things. She does too, but I always enjoy being the one to jump in, even if it means getting up in the middle of the night. I’m perfectly comfortable with all of that, you know.”

Fatherhood, he said, has been “amazing.”

I experienced one of those unusual mornings where my daughter really didn’t want me to go to work-and it happened only because her mother was still sleeping,” Reynolds said in 2016. “It was tough, you really didn’t want to leave. It genuinely hurt to walk away.”

You know, it was really strange – we were watching the Super Bowl and my daughter spotted me on screen and immediately recognized me. There were about 12 versions of me, which she described as ’24 useless boobs,'” Reynolds said in 2016. “She wasn’t impressed at all. She just said, ‘Eh, whatever.'”

It was really tough letting my baby daughter go off on her own for the first time-I was a wreck dropping her off at Burning Man,” Ryan joked to his Twitter followers in 2016.

“She’s amazing, you know?” the proud father exclaimed in 2015, before sharing an update on whether the couple’s then-only child, James, had begun to talk. “We’re hearing lots of babbling, but nothing that really sounds like understandable English yet,” he joked, and added, “I tease her a lot.”

“@vancityreynolds Since the day our baby was born, I’ve felt so strongly in my heart that you were most likely the father,” Lively wrote on Instagram in 2015. “#ILoveYouSoMuchItsSilly.”

Blake Lively described having a baby as constantly facing the unpredictable, telling an interviewer in 2016, “You never know when you’re going to have a messy moment or when you’ll get a sweet smile – or when that smile will suddenly turn into crying.” She playfully compared it to living with someone with unpredictable behavior, but emphasized the joy it brings. “Once you have a baby, you can’t imagine life without them, because they grow up so fast. I’d still want to be a mother even if I were eighty years old!”

“It’s the best,” Lively stated in 2015. “Family is what connects us all. We all have unusual careers, but we’re all someone’s family member, and that’s a wonderful thing.”

In 2015, Reynolds tweeted: “On Father’s Day, my daughter smiled at me. That was the only gift I needed, as I was preparing to spend 6 years writing a book about being a parent.”

He shared with TopMob News while promoting his 2015 film Woman in Gold that there were instances where he’d wake up and realize he’d been walking for five minutes without even knowing it.

But you absolutely adore it. You find yourself waking up during the night with a big, silly grin. I was just sharing that with someone. If anything *else* disturbed your sleep every 45 minutes, you’d be furious. However, when it’s your baby, it’s the most wonderful thing imaginable.

It’s pretty common for people to get intimate after having a few drinks and then end up having a baby. But, Reynolds joked in 2016, I was completely sober for this one. I have to say,

You know, it really strikes me how universal yet deeply meaningful parenthood is. I always find myself chuckling because whenever celebrities talk about their children, it can be a bit… much. It’s like, ‘My baby is the first ever to be born!’ It’s a common sentiment, but it always feels a little cringeworthy, doesn’t it?

I remember reading what Reynolds said back in 2015, and it just perfectly captures how I feel about kids! He admitted he always tries to be humble about it, but he absolutely adores his then-only child, James. He even said he ‘truly worships’ her – isn’t that sweet? It’s funny and relatable how completely wrapped around her little finger he is! He said when she says ‘Dada,’ he’d do anything for her, even ‘walk through a cement wall.’ It’s just the most precious thing, and so many parents feel the same way, I’m sure!
