It’s nice to have a friend who loves performing as much as Taylor Swift.
That’s why the singer of “Life of a Showgirl” mentioned “it would be hard to keep” her longtime friend Ed Sheeran from performing at her wedding to Travis Kelce.
She playfully explained during her Hits Radio interview, which was made public on Oct. 3, that Ed always delivers a performance. She said, ‘It’s like, Ed knows if there’s a stage, he’ll be performing on it.’ She added that he understands what his audience desires and is eager to fulfill those expectations.
However, the same is true for Taylor; she readily accepts opportunities to sing at her friends’ weddings, as well.
“The great thing about our friendship is that we both enjoy performing,” the 36-year-old shared. “We’re passionate about our work, and we love being on stage. Honestly, it’s easy to convince either of us to perform at just about anything.”
Besides, she and Ed, 34, have a “strange, mind-melt thing” when it comes to making music.
“We’ve always had it,” said Taylor, who collaborated with the British singer numerous times over the years. “We always will.”
Actually, the Grammy-winning artist asked Ed to join her on stage to perform “End Game” while her Eras Tour was in London last year.
I actually saw them last weekend at the wedding of a really close friend,” Taylor shared with Hits Radio, referring to Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco‘s recent marriage. “We were just reminiscing about how great it was when he joined me on stage at Wembley.”
However, Ed will likely have to wait some time before he gets to celebrate at Taylor and Travis’ wedding. He hasn’t received a save the date yet from the couple, who became engaged earlier this summer.
Okay, so everyone’s been asking about the wedding invites, right? Well, I was *listening* to Taylor on The Graham Norton Show on October 3rd, and she basically said she’s completely focused on finishing her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, *first*. It’s like, the album has to happen before anything else! She said planning the wedding is what comes *after* that, and she thinks it’s going to be so fun when she finally gets to it. I’m just… obsessed with everything she does, and I need to know *everything*! Everything!
For everything to know about Taylor’s walk down the aisle, keep reading.
It’s hard to imagine Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tying the knot on a date that doesn’t hold special significance for them, or at the very least, for Taylor.
I’m really into numerology. I enjoy math and dates,” the well-known lover of the number 13 excitedly shared on the Aug. 13th episode of New Heights, her record-breaking two-hour interview on her fiancé’s podcast released 13 days before they revealed they were engaged (though, according to Travis’ father, they told close friends and family about their relationship three days after). “I genuinely find that kind of thing very enjoyable.”
The decision of whether Travis, who will be 36 on October 5th, continues playing in the NFL after his current contract ends in 2025 will also influence when they set their wedding date. If he doesn’t retire from football, their wedding will be held during the off-season – sometime between the Super Bowl in February and the start of training camp in July.
If Travis decides to retire after 13 seasons (which is strange to think about!), he’ll be able to get married during Taylor’s favorite month, October. He could get married at any time, really, but it will be easier to plan once fans know if-and when-Taylor will announce a tour for The Life of a Showgirl. Her twelfth album comes out on October 3rd, and she typically reveals tour dates about a month after a brand new album is released (not a re-recording).
When Taylor picks out a white dress, it’s going to be one to remember.
Ignoring the cost of her high-end clothes and seemingly effortless jewelry, the singer’s style is comfortably stylish. We imagine she favors timeless pieces with a modern edge, perhaps from designers like Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Zuhair Murad, or J. Mendel – all brands she’s worn for years.
Following the ceremony, where she’ll say her vows while wearing a beautiful gown, the 5-foot-10 bride will likely change into a more comfortable party dress so she can dance all night.
We’re excited to see how she incorporates the traditional elements of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue into her look.
Travis is also into fashion, so he’s excited to have fun choosing his wedding suit, no matter what style he goes with.
His decision to wear shorts when he proposed – it was a hot August in Kansas, after all – led to some online jokes about him wearing fancy shorts for his walk down the aisle. However, that would be a pretty unconventional choice, and he probably doesn’t want to distract from his partner, who will be wearing a lovely dress.
Although, if showing off his knees was important to him…
To make sure her future husband wouldn’t feel unimportant, Taylor explained to Cosmopolitan in 2012, “I don’t want him to wonder if it even matters if he’s there.” She was clarifying that she hadn’t already chosen a tuxedo for him, ensuring he knew his presence was valued.
For Taylor and Travis, family means the world, so their parents and brothers are naturally key people at the wedding. Jason Kelce, likely to be the best man, shares two young daughters, Wyatt and Elliotte, with his wife, Kylie Kelce. Depending on the wedding date, his younger sister, Bennett, might also be a flower girl. (However, baby Finnley will probably be too young to participate.)
It will be interesting to see which of Travis’ teammates from the Kansas City Chiefs are invited, but he was a groomsman at QB Patrick Mahomes‘ wedding to Brittany Mahomes in 2022, meaning at least one player from the team will likely be there. Plus, he’s maintained a close group of friends since his high school days in Cleveland Heights, so that golf-and-beer-filled bachelor party is going to be lit.
Regarding the bride, Taylor’s childhood friend Abigail Anderson has consistently been a significant presence in her life. Though Taylor’s well-known group of friends has changed over time, Selena Gomez remains part of her close-knit circle – they still exchange homemade sourdough bread, as do Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, even though there have been reports of a falling out due to the actress’ ongoing legal issues.
And speaking of who could be a flower girl, it’s worth noting that Taylor is already a godmother – she’s godmother to Blake and Ryan’s daughters.
As a huge fan of live music, I really appreciated what Travis Kelce said on the September 17th episode of New Heights. He put it perfectly – “I think we’re live music kind of people, you know?” It’s great to hear him confirm what so many of us already feel – there’s just something special about experiencing music live!
Ugh, we knew it, we’re so on the same page.
Regardless of whether the bride decides to take a break from performing, she has many friends who are talented singers. (We’re particularly thinking of Haim.)
Taylor may love Travis so much she’d marry him with paper rings, but that won’t be the case.
As someone who keeps a close eye on celebrity style, I’ve noticed that if Travis continues to be active in sports, we might see him sporting one of those comfortable, flexible wedding bands from time to time. But, as of now, it looks like he’s settled on a truly classic choice: an Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond-selected by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry-for his fiancée. It’s a beautiful, timeless piece!
Oh my gosh, the ring! It’s absolutely *stunning*. There’s this gorgeous, elongated diamond in the center, and then even *more* diamonds, smaller ones, on either side. It’s all in custom-engraved yellow gold – can you even imagine?! And get this – it’s a *perfect* match for the $27,300 Cartier watch he used when he proposed! I knew they were meant to be, and this ring just *proves* it. It’s seriously the most dreamy ring I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been tracking every detail! I’m obsessed!
Just how massive will this white veil occasion be?
As a lifestyle expert, and a total Swiftie myself, I’m sensing some *major* things happening with Taylor! I was chatting with Nikki Glaser at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, and she totally agreed – she predicted a “big” wedding! She told TopMob News, “It has to be. It’s all been leading to this.” I mean, can you blame her? Everything feels like it’s building towards something spectacular!
The comedian also pointed out that, given Taylor Swift essentially “gets to be a bride every day” in the public eye, the wedding will probably be kept as private as possible.
“She simply wants to share the happy occasion with everyone she cares about – she has a large circle of family and friends,” Nikki explained. “I’m expecting photos from a helicopter to, in some way, disrupt her enjoyment of the day by flying overhead.”
As soon as the newly married couple leaves, though, you can be sure Taylor will begin posting photos and videos from her wedding to her loyal fans. There’s no way she wouldn’t share moments from her special day with them.
