A game available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X that came out this year is currently free to play until October 5th. After that date, Xbox players will need to purchase the game for $14.99 if they want to keep playing. While this is a limited time, the game doesn’t have a single-player campaign or story, as it’s a multiplayer title. Therefore, this should be enough time to try it out and decide if it’s worth buying. Check it out now! Don’t miss out!
So, Xbox is giving away a game called Polterguys: Possession Party, and honestly, I hadn’t even *heard* of it! It came out back in April and is made by Madorium, published by Amplified Games. It seems to have slipped under everyone’s radar – it doesn’t have a ton of reviews anywhere. But, checking Steam, it actually has an 85% positive rating! People say it’s super simple and fun, which is great if you’re looking for something to play with the family. On the flip side, some folks are complaining that there’s not enough to *do* and that the game isn’t very well balanced. Definitely something to check out if you’re looking for a quick, lighthearted experience!
About the Game
If you’re new to Polterguys: Possession Party, the game lets you play as playful ghosts. You can take control of ordinary objects to unlock unique abilities. The main idea is to trick your rivals into being caught by a powerful monster, offering them as a sacrifice while you explore various eerie levels.
It can be tricky to find seven other players, but the game will use bots to fill in if needed. Still, this weekend is the best time to play with others, as the game is currently free on Xbox.
One user review states, “Absolutely loving it. Even playing with the bots is entertaining, but obviously playing with a group of friends and getting to sabotage each other is an even greater laugh.”
One reviewer described the game as a mix of Mario Kart and the gameplay loop of Dead by Daylight, but with the fun, unpredictable personality of a party game similar to Gang Beasts and Witch It!”
This offer is part of the Xbox Free Play Days, but unlike many deals in this promotion, you don’t need an Xbox Game Pass subscription to take advantage of it. If this doesn’t interest you, there’s another free Xbox game you might enjoy – it’s still incredibly popular on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X, even 10 years after it came out. As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to leave a comment or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum.
