The beta version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is now available, giving players a first look at the newest installment in the popular first-person shooter series.
Developed again by Treyarch and Raven Software, following last year’s Black Ops 6, this game is a continuation of the story from the original Black Ops 2. Players will once again take on the role of David Mason in what’s being called a complex and intriguing narrative.
As with most beta releases, players are encountering some bugs and issues. I’m monitoring these problems, along with any fixes or official responses from the developers.
Below you’ll find a breakdown of all the known issues in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, categorized by the game mode they impact.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — General issues and bugs
Crashes and disconnects
If the game is crashing and sending you back to your home screen, here’s what you can do. Crashes can happen for many reasons, but one common cause is overheating. Make sure your console or PC has plenty of space for air to flow around it, keeping it cool. This can help prevent crashes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — Multiplayer issues and bugs
Overclocks going faster or slower than they should
There’s a problem with the new Overclock system where it might not activate at the expected speed – sometimes it’s too fast, and other times too slow. The developers at Treyarch know about this and are gathering information from the beta test to resolve it before the game officially launches.
Players show up as Max Level when hitting Level 10
Some players reaching Level 10 in the Black Ops 7 beta are incorrectly showing as having reached the maximum level. This is just a visual bug, and progressing to Level 11 should correct it. We’re also planning a fix to address this issue in a future update.
Players are keeping the Gravemaker past expiry
Players have discovered a way to keep the Gravemaker Scorestreak active even after its time is up. The developers at Treyarch are aware of this issue and are planning to release a fix soon.
The non-host in 2-player parties is getting stuck
Players joining a two-person party sometimes get stuck and can’t leave. The developers at Treyarch are aware of this issue and are working on a solution that will be released in a future update.
Main menu reset
Players are occasionally experiencing a reset of the main menu after providing their information. The developers at Treyarch are aware of this issue and are planning to release a fix soon.
