Even though Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game, it also uses a gacha system to earn money.
Okay, so this game has *two* gacha systems, which is kinda wild! One is just for cool outfits and stuff, purely cosmetic. The other one is tied into this thing called the ‘Imagine’ system and actually impacts gameplay. They both work pretty much the same way, but honestly, one is way more valuable than the other – you’ll definitely be focusing on getting things from the Imagine gacha.
Want to know how these gacha systems work? Read on for all of the details!
Gacha System Explained | Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Will Wish | Imagine Gacha
The Will Wish is the first and most important type of randomized draw you’ll encounter in the game. You can find it by speaking with Mason at the Imagine Research Institute in Asterleeds, as pictured above.
This gacha system lets you collect Imagines, which are special characters you can summon during battles. They add new abilities and are a key part of building a strong team!
You can get items from the gacha by using either 150 Bound Rose Orbs or 1 Will Wish Coin for each pull. Both of these can be earned by playing the game for free, like through exploration, or by progressing through the free and paid tiers of the Season Pass.
As for the gacha itself, it has the following items and rates currently:
- [SSR] Rare Battle Imagine Will – 0.15% Chance, 1.56% with pity. 1 SSR guaranteed via pity every 80 pulls.
- [SR] Advanced Battle Imagine Will – 1.85% Chance, 5.17% with pity. 1 SR guaranteed via pity every 20 pulls.
- [R] Intermediate Battle Imagine Will – 12% Chance.
- [N] Stunt Will Fragments – 86.00% Chance total.
Other Key Points of the Imagine Gacha
It’s important to know that you don’t *only* get SR and R Imagines through the gacha system. You can earn them simply by playing the game, though getting SR Imagines this way can take a while. You can also purchase them from the Trading Center.
SSR Imagines can only be obtained through the gacha system. As of right now, there are no other methods to acquire them.
You can also choose a specific SSR Imagine to receive. This ensures you’ll get it the next time you pull an SSR character in the game.
This feature is only available once per week. If you’ve already claimed the specific SSR Imagine you wanted this week, you’ll need to wait until next week to try again. Otherwise, you’ll receive a random SSR Imagine from the current selection.
Just a heads-up for anyone trying to get Imagines – pulling for them only gets you the *recipe*. You still have to actually *make* the Imagine by using the Imagine Craft feature and chatting with Mason. I almost forgot that part myself, so I wanted to share!
Meowlux Wish | Cosmetic Gacha
Besides the main character gacha, there’s a separate gacha just for cosmetic items. You can find it anytime by choosing “Wish” in the game’s menu, as illustrated in the image.
To try your luck with this banner, each pull costs either 150 Rose Orbs or 1 Meowlux Wish Coin. You can also use 150 Bound Rose Orbs or 1 Bound Meowlux Wish Coin as an alternative.
The key difference between Bound and Unbound currencies is how you can use the items you acquire. Items obtained with Bound currency cannot be traded or sold to other players. Items obtained with Unbound currency *can* be traded and sold.
Here are the current rates for this gacha:
- [SSR] The full featured cosmetic set – 0.15% Chance, 1.56% with pity. 1 SSR guaranteed via pity every 80 pulls.
- [SR] Assorted single-slot cosmetics or a Meowlux Premium Card – 1.85% Chance, 3.68% with pity. 1 SR guaranteed via pity every 30 pulls.
- [R] Assorted single-slot cosmetics, materials, and Meowlux Vault Cards – 12% Chance.
- [N] Assorted consumables, toys, low-tier materials, and Meowlux Vault Cards – 86.00% Chance total.
As a huge Meowlux fan, I’m so excited to finally be able to use my Premium and Vault Cards at the Meowlux Store! Apparently, we can trade them in for awesome, exclusive cosmetics. I can’t wait to see what I can unlock!
The Meowlux Wish system is quite simple to understand. Plus, it’s only for cosmetic items, so you don’t need to use it if you aren’t interested in changing how things look!
Just a heads-up, if you want those limited-time cosmetics from these banners, this is your only shot! They’re purely cosmetic, so you don’t *need* them to play, but if you like how they look, remember you can’t get them anywhere else later.
That covers the gacha system in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance! Just remember that the exact rates and details might be different when the game officially launches worldwide.
