Square Enix and Artdink have shared fresh details and images for the upcoming *Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake*, showcasing new storylines, characters, and dungeons from the original *Dragon Quest I*.

We’ve added lots of new scenarios that tie into the larger Erdrick trilogy! You can now battle the darkness by harnessing the power of Rubiss!
The *Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake* expands on the story of the Erdrick Trilogy with new scenarios. In *Dragon Quest I*, you’ll need to find Rubiss – a character who also appears in *Dragon Quest III* – to save the world from darkness. You can seek help from the faeries, who are closely connected to Rubiss, and try to summon her!
Rubiss (voiced by Kelly Hotten in English, Natsuki Kimura in Japanese)
The great spirit said to have created Alefgard. Bestows a message so the world may be saved.
Dream-Whisperer (voiced by Yuriri Naka in English, Ayumi Tsunematsu in Japanese)
The leader of the faeries. She is attempting to summon Rubiss back to this world.
You receive a message in a dream – a strange voice tells you to find Rubiss, and so you begin a journey across the land, searching for answers.
Legend says Rubiss created the land of Alefgard, but she has since disappeared and is no longer with us.
Only the Dream-Whisperer, who leads the faeries, knows how to call Rubiss, but unfortunately, she’s disappeared.
The Faerie Village is home to faeries deeply connected to the magical substance Rubiss. Because most faeries don’t trust humans, you’ll need to gain their confidence.

The story of *Dragon Quest I* has been expanded with new characters and events. As you journey, you’ll meet new people and uncover mysteries through their stories.

There’s a cave hidden past the rough trail, and it’s home to dwarves who appear very strong and self-assured.
