D4vd has made some changes to his assets.
A little over a month after 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found dead in the front trunk of a Tesla owned by the singer D4vd, he transferred ownership of his two homes in Houston, Texas, to his mother, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Twenty-year-old David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, recently transferred ownership of two of his Texas homes to a trust managed by his mother. Records show he made these changes on September 18th and 23rd. The name of his mother has not been publicly released.
The Tesla where Rivas Hernandez’s body was found was first registered in Texas, according to authorities who spoke with ABC News.
TopMob News is checking with the Harris County Clerk’s Office to verify the information and has also contacted representatives for D4vd for a statement.
Police discovered Rivas Hernandez’s body on September 8th at a Hollywood vehicle impound lot after responding to reports of a bad smell coming from a Tesla.
The body was identified as the missing teenager who had been reported lost on April 5, 2024, in Lake Elsinore, California. That location is 76 miles from where the vehicle was discovered.
According to law enforcement sources who spoke with ABC News, the vehicle was found parked near a house in the Hollywood Hills where D4vd was staying before his Withered World Tour. That tour has since been called off.
On September 29th, the Los Angeles Police Department stated that the cause and manner of death for Ms. Rivas Hernandez are still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, according to a department press release.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner, the teen’s body was returned to her family on September 23rd. A funeral service was held for her on October 6th at Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California, as shown in photos obtained by TMZ.
Okay, so everyone’s been worried about D4vd after what happened, but thankfully he hasn’t been *charged* with anything! I was so scared, honestly. NBC News said he’s been super helpful with the police, like, totally cooperating with everything they need. It’s a relief to hear, even though it’s still a really tough situation. I just want him to be okay!
D4vd hasn’t publicly addressed the investigation, but his manager, Josh Marshall (known online as JMogul), has responded to claims that he received an email in 2024 from the family of Rivas Hernandez informing him she was missing. Marshall has stated these rumors are false.
Marshall addressed rumors online, confirming to *LA Mag* that he wrote the posts. He explained in a TikTok comment that this has been a difficult period for his family, as he has three children. He also stated he never received any emails about the matter, was unaware of what was happening, and does not live in California.
I mostly work from home – about 95% of the time. My role doesn’t involve much direct contact with clients, including David, as others on the team handle those daily interactions. This is a terrible tragedy for everyone involved, especially her family, and I hope the authorities are able to investigate and find out what happened quickly.
The manager acknowledged much of the information circulating was unconfirmed, but shared that they were currently focused on supporting their family through this difficult time and the news of the tragedy.

D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later moved to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.
D4vd started his career by streaming games like Fortnite on YouTube, hoping to gain popularity. In 2021, he faced issues with copyrighted music in his videos and asked his mom for help.
He explained to Benny Blanco in an interview with *Hero* magazine that he felt lost and was complaining to his mom about not making any money. She told him to focus on creating his own music and to stop bothering her, which made him realize he could actually try doing that.
D4vd, who hadn’t had any formal musical training beyond casual singing, began creating music using an app on his phone. His songs quickly gained popularity online, and as more of his original tracks went viral on TikTok, his music career started to flourish.
He finally put out his first album, *Withered*, in April 2025, and quickly began his first tour around the world.
On September 8th, police were sent to a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to NBC News sources.
Los Angeles police discovered human remains inside a bag in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known as the artist D4vd, in Hempstead, Texas.
According to police, the car was taken to the impound lot because it was left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.
On September 16th, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that remains found in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was 13 years old when she disappeared.
As a long-time follower of this case, I was shocked to learn the official cause of death is still pending, according to documents TopMob News obtained on September 17th. While her body was found on September 8th, investigators believe she’d been in the car for quite a while before anyone found it – they said it was severely decomposed, which is just heartbreaking.
After learning about the death of Rivas Hernandez, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the singer has been notified and is working with the police while continuing his tour.
Since then, D4vd canceled the remainder of his U.S. dates.
