Marvel Just Snubbed 8 X-Men Who Should Have Got Series After Age of Revelation

Following the upcoming ‘Age of Revelation‘ event in the X-Men line, Marvel has revealed plans for 2026 with a new series called ‘Shadows of Tomorrow.’ The lineup includes titles featuring familiar faces like Rogue, Cyclops, Colossus, and Magik, alongside team books like ‘Inglorious X-Force’ and ‘Generation X-23,’ plus solo adventures for Wade Wilson (Deadpool) and Storm. While some of these choices are predictable, others, like individual series for Cyclops and Rogue, have been highly requested by fans. However, many believe these announcements are too safe, and X-Men readers often prefer more daring creative decisions.

The ‘From the Ashes’ line has faced criticism, mainly because the chosen characters feel too safe and unremarkable. Although some interesting titles were revealed, many fans believe other X-Men were more deserving of their own solo series. These eight characters, in particular, seem to have been overlooked by Marvel, as they would have made stronger leads.

8) Madelyne Pryor

Madelyne Pryor is a significant character in X-Men history, and the recent Krakoa era brought about the most development for her in years. She became Queen of Limbo, reconciled with Jean Grey—even receiving Jean’s memories of raising their son, Nathan—and began a relationship with Havok, ultimately forming a new X-Men team with him to battle Orchis. Since the end of the Krakoa era, however, Maddie hasn’t had much focus, appearing only briefly in an *X-Men Unlimited* story. While she remains the Queen of Limbo and recently appeared with the Masters of Evil in *One World Under Doom*, a solo book for Maddie could have filled fans in on her life since Havok left and prepared her for future storylines. Given her appearance in the “Shadows of Tomorrow” promotional image, it feels like the perfect time for her to get one.

7) Emma Frost

Emma Frost has been a key figure in the X-Men for two decades and is currently featured in both *Exceptional X-Men* and the *Iron and Frost* series. While a recent teaser and comments from Brevoort suggest a significant role for her, fans are wondering why she isn’t getting her own solo comic book. It’s been years since Emma led her own series, and many believe she’s more than ready for another one. She’s evolved beyond just being an X-Man and deserves a chance to showcase her potential with her own independent stories, proving her star power outside of team-ups.

6) Ms. Marvel

In 2025, Ms. Marvel participated in a major X-Men storyline after officially becoming a mutant in 2023’s *The Hellfire Gala*. This led to a journey through time and different universes where she discovered what it meant to be an X-Man and finally unlocked her mutant abilities – which are essentially the same energy powers fans know from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the character has seemingly vanished from current storylines. Ms. Marvel’s transition to the X-Men hasn’t been popular with readers, and the best way to fix that is for Marvel to give her dedicated creators who understand her and launch a consistent solo comic series. If Marvel doesn’t, she’s being unfairly sidelined in 2026.

5) Prodigy

Despite appearing in the short-lived comic *NYX*, the character Prodigy deserves another chance. He’s a skilled hero with a unique ability – he can absorb the knowledge of those around him – and has been a part of teams like the New X-Men, Young Avengers, and Krakoan X-Factor. Many consider him the strongest of the young mutants introduced in the 2000s, but he hasn’t had the opportunity to truly stand out. While *NYX* wasn’t a success, Prodigy has enormous potential and could become a major star if Marvel focuses on developing his story. He has a rich backstory, and it’s time for him to finally get his own spotlight.

4) Havok

Havok has always lived in the shadow of his more famous brother, Cyclops, and hasn’t quite gotten his chance to shine as an X-Men. While he was part of the recent *X-Factor* team, that series ended quickly, and didn’t really address the dramatic events Havok had just experienced during the Krakoa era – being turned into a zombie, discovering Madelyne Pryor was controlling him, and finally breaking free. Though he appears in the teaser for “Shadows of Tomorrow,” suggesting future plans, Havok would really benefit from his own solo series to fully explore his story and character.

3) Omega Maggot

First appearing with the X-Men in 1997, Maggot was a strange and enigmatic character – a blue-skinned man accompanied by biomechanical slugs. While his backstory as a South African mutant and the slugs’ function as an external digestive system were later explained, he never really got a chance to shine. Things changed when he joined the cast of the *Storm* comic, receiving a significant power boost and becoming Omega Maggot, a key ally to the Eternal Storm. Omega Maggot quickly became a fan favorite, and many readers would have welcomed a solo series focused on his adventures. This series would have been a great way to fully explore the most compelling version of the character and prove his potential.

2) Jubilee

Jubilee recently shined in *Uncanny X-Men* #19 and has a strong fanbase, especially after appearing in *X-Men ’97*. It’s surprising Marvel hasn’t given her a solo series yet, as it feels overdue. While *Uncanny X-Men* has been good overall, the lack of focus on Jubilee has been a noticeable weakness. Fans have been hoping for more of her, and a solo book would be a great way to deliver. It’s frustrating that Marvel hasn’t seemed to prioritize giving Jubilee fans what they want.

1) Gambit

Both Rogue and Gambit would benefit from their own solo comic series, but Gambit especially feels overdue. He’s a consistently popular X-Man who’s successfully headlined books before, and with the current X-Men run taking place in Louisiana – a place very important to his backstory – it feels like the perfect time. After a couple of years of somewhat disappointing storylines, a solo series set in his familiar territory would be a real treat for fans.
