Battlefield 6 is Getting Continuous Updates to Fix Various Bugs Since October 10 Launch

Battlefield Studios shared an update on social media saying they’re continuing to address problems with *Battlefield 6* since its launch last week. The team is specifically looking into issues players are experiencing on certain maps in Breakthrough mode, where matches aren’t always filling up with enough players.

Battlefield Studios is addressing problems with Breakthrough mode by updating the game’s servers to ensure matches have the right number of players. They’ve also announced fixes for other issues, such as missing rewards, installation bugs, and gameplay glitches where weapon attachments interrupt jumping.

It’s good to see Battlefield Studios quickly addressing even minor issues players experienced with Battlefield 6 over the weekend. The developers have also emphasized that they’ll continue to improve the game long after it launched. Just before release, key developers like lead producer Nika Bender and design director Salim Fasahat mentioned they plan to keep using Battlefield Labs playtests to refine and update the game.

Getting feedback from players while a game is live is incredibly valuable. “BF Labs” is how we gather that feedback during development, allowing us to make changes based on what players think. Bender explained that listening to the community has always been a core part of our development process, because we strongly believe in understanding and responding to what players want.

Fasahat explained that Battlefield Labs has been very helpful in the game’s development and will likely continue to be a key part of their process. A lot of the testing focuses on weapons and how long it takes to eliminate opponents, addressing concerns the community raised about ‘time-to-kill’ and ‘time-to-death’ rates. They’re currently testing and adjusting these elements within Labs.

Fasahat had mentioned before that the maps used in early tests and the August open beta for *Battlefield 6* were intentionally selected. Christian Buhl, the technical director, also clarified that these smaller maps were helpful for perfecting the game’s basic mechanics.

Fasahat explained that this approach was intentional, allowing them to understand the different ways the system operates, how well it scales, and which methods work best with various map types. They’ve already gained valuable insights from this process.

Buhl explained that it was simpler to test and refine the shooting mechanics on the smaller maps, so they began with those. Plus, they’d originally intended to release these particular maps first, and this is the first time they’re adding the larger maps to BF Labs for testing.
