Chucklefish has pushed back the release of its magical life simulation game, *Witchbrook*, from winter 2025 to sometime in 2026. Players will be able to enjoy the game on Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (through Steam), and it will also be available with Xbox Game Pass.
Chucklefish announced that *Witchbrook* will now be released in 2026. They explained that the game is a large project and they want to ensure players have a detailed and engaging experience in Mossport.
Here is the full development update from Chucklefish:
Hey everyone,
We have some news about *Witchbrook*. We were aiming to release the game in winter 2025, but even though development is going well, we’ve decided to delay the launch until sometime next year.
Okay, so Witchbrook is a really ambitious game, and I’m super happy to say it’s coming together just like we envisioned! We’re aiming for a world that feels truly alive and worth exploring, and we’re taking the time to make sure every little detail contributes to that immersive feeling. It’s a lot of work, but we want it to be special!
Map of Mossport
We haven’t shared much about how big the game world is yet, but today we’re excited to show you a first look at the map of Mossport! This map gives you a sense of the vast world you’ll explore, and we’re also busy crafting compelling stories, quests, and magical systems to make your time at Witchbrook College truly special.
(View the full interactive version of the map here.)
Just so you know, the colored sections on this map show where you can actually play!
Mossport offers a variety of beautiful natural settings, from the tranquil trails and hidden wonders of Shadhollow Forest to the sunny, breezy beaches of Parasol Sands.
I absolutely love Mossport’s high street! It’s the perfect place to be – always full of life, whether there’s a festival going on or just a local market. You can wander into little shops, try amazing food, and everyone is so welcoming. And then there’s the Student Village – it’s so cool seeing all that energy right under the beautiful Witchbrook College. It’s clearly a really vibrant community of young witches!
Shadbrook Cottage is a peaceful escape, perfect for relaxing and recharging. With a lush garden and nearby farmland, it’s easy to unwind. You can even find a quiet place to fish in the river just a short walk away. The cottage and its surroundings blend together seamlessly, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that feels like home.
What’s Next?
Because we’ve extended the development process, we’re now able to pursue some unexpected and exciting possibilities, like adding support for more platforms and languages! We’ll share more information as soon as it’s ready.
We wanted to give you a sense of just how big and diverse the world of *Witchbrook* will be when the game comes out next year! We’ll be posting more updates before the end of the year, including a blog post about character customization coming in the next few weeks. Plus, we’re already working on another episode of “The Witchbrook Oracle!” We’re excited to share everything with you.
Thank you for your patience, passion and continued support.
