Thanos is one of the most powerful and feared villains in the Marvel Universe. He’s defeated countless heroes, gods, and cosmic entities thanks to his incredible strength, durability, and ability to harness cosmic energy. Driven by a devotion to Mistress Death, Thanos has spent his long life bringing destruction to the universe, and usually wins when facing any single opponent. He’s truly a force to be reckoned with.
Thanos is incredibly powerful, and he’d be a major threat to the DC Universe as well. While the DC Universe has dealt with powerful villains before, few are as dangerous as Thanos. However, he wouldn’t win against everyone. Seven DC heroes, in particular, are strong enough to easily defeat him, handing the Mad Titan a rare loss.
7) The Spectre
The Spectre is an incredibly powerful being in the DC Universe, acting as God’s spirit of vengeance. He has the ability to warp reality and is dedicated to punishing the most evil individuals. With god-like power and a relentless drive, he’d easily overpower someone like Thanos. While Thanos might try to understand and even steal the Spectre’s power if given the chance, the Spectre wouldn’t allow it. He would immediately attack Thanos, inflicting the same suffering and terror Thanos has caused others.
6) Supergirl
Supergirl is a top-tier DC hero, and often underestimated in terms of her power level. She possesses all of Superman’s abilities, and has even been depicted as potentially exceeding him in strength. A threat like Thanos is exactly what she’s built to handle. As a Kryptonian, she’s incredibly powerful – arguably more so than Thanos and other Eternals. Supergirl is highly skilled in combat and would overwhelm Thanos with a relentless barrage of super-fast, incredibly strong attacks. She’d use her invulnerability and powers like heat vision and freeze breath to keep him constantly on the defensive. Thanos has never faced an opponent like Supergirl, and she would decisively defeat him.
5) Shazam/The Captain
Shazam, often called Earth’s Mightiest Mortal, draws his incredible power from ancient gods and heroes. He’s incredibly strong – almost as powerful as Kryptonians like Superman – and has learned from the best heroes on the planet. This training would give him the edge against Thanos. Shazam is faster and stronger, capable of dodging Thanos’ attacks while delivering powerful blows. He’d also use his intelligence – gained from the wisdom of Solomon – to find Thanos’ weakness. Because Thanos isn’t accustomed to facing a hero of Shazam’s caliber, Shazam would likely win this fight.
4) Wally West
Wally West is considered the most powerful Flash and the most skilled user of the Speed Force, a phenomenal power source in the DC Universe. While Thanos is incredibly strong, Wally’s unmatched speed gives him the edge. He’s a master at using speed offensively, and a single, perfectly-timed Infinite Mass Punch would be enough to defeat Thanos.
3) Orion
Orion, the son of the powerful villain Darkseid, is a formidable warrior known as the Dog of War. A prophecy foretells he will one day defeat his father, potentially making him the strongest of the New Gods – even more powerful than Thanos. Darkseid is far beyond Thanos in terms of power, and Orion inherits that potential. Driven by intense rage, Orion is an incredibly dangerous fighter. A battle between Orion and Thanos would be massively destructive, a brutal clash of similar abilities. While Thanos is a threat, Orion’s greater power and uncontrollable anger would likely give him the edge he needs to win.
2) Martian Manhunter
Martian Manhunter is a remarkably powerful, yet often overlooked, hero in the DC Universe. He possesses an incredible range of abilities – from super strength and speed to shapeshifting, telepathy, and even invisibility – making him incredibly versatile in any situation. In a fight against a formidable foe like Thanos, Martian Manhunter would have a significant advantage. He’s not only physically stronger and faster, but his shapeshifting gives him unique attack options Thanos hasn’t encountered before. Because Thanos has never faced an opponent with such a diverse skillset, Martian Manhunter’s unpredictability would likely be the key to victory.
1) Superman
Superman is the most powerful hero in the DC Universe and would easily defeat Thanos. He’s incredibly strong – capable of moving planets – and can travel faster than anything Thanos has ever encountered. This massive power difference would give Superman a significant edge. Not only is Superman immensely powerful, but he’s also a skilled fighter who knows how to effectively use his abilities. He would overwhelm Thanos with blinding speed, devastating punches, and constant movement, dodging any attacks Thanos throws his way. Simply put, Thanos wouldn’t stand a chance against the Man of Steel, who would win the fight with little effort.
