Microsoft Publicly Comments on Next-Gen Xbox After Rumors of Series X|S Being the End

Sarah Bond, president of Xbox, recently demonstrated the Xbox ROG Ally—Xbox’s new handheld gaming device and competitor to the Nintendo Switch 2—on Good Morning America. During a tour of Xbox’s hardware labs with design leader Carl Ledbetter and host Becky Worley, some details about future Xbox consoles were shared. While no specific information about the next Xbox was revealed, Xbox confirmed that they are actively planning its development.

While touring the facility, Sarah Bond let slip to Worley that Microsoft Building 87 is where the next generation of Xbox consoles are being developed. This highly confidential location is not only the birthplace of the Xbox Series X and S, but also where Microsoft is planning the future of Xbox. Unfortunately, Bond didn’t share any specifics about what those future plans entail.

This is the team’s workspace for creating, building, and testing the next Xbox.

Everyone’s been talking about the next Xbox, but Microsoft hasn’t officially said much. We’ve seen a lot of leaks and rumors – some claim the new Xbox will be more powerful than the PlayStation 6, while others suggest Microsoft might not release a new console at all.

Microsoft and Xbox are currently facing a difficult situation. They’ve raised prices on both Game Pass subscriptions and Xbox consoles, which has upset many fans. This feels especially frustrating because the Game Pass service hasn’t improved to match the higher cost, leaving players feeling like the price increase isn’t justified.

Several stores have stopped selling Xbox consoles, probably because fewer people are buying them compared to PlayStation and Nintendo. While Sony and Nintendo have increased prices to deal with tariffs, Microsoft seems to have reacted more strongly. This, along with recent job cuts and the closing of some game studios, has left many Xbox fans disappointed with the company.

People always get excited about new gaming consoles, and for good reason! They bring better technology and innovative features. One great example from the current generation is the ability to quickly pause and resume games. Looking ahead, upcoming games like *The Witcher 4* and *Physint* are generating a lot of buzz. The improved technology will deliver stunning graphics and more realistic gameplay. As technology advances, video games are becoming increasingly immersive, and the future looks bright for the next generation of consoles.
