Apple TV and Peacock Create New Bundle

The streaming landscape is always evolving. When one company no longer dominated all streaming content, many different production companies started their own platforms.

Apple TV and Paramount+ are now offering a combined package. This follows Apple TV’s recent rebranding, where they removed the “+” from their name and adopted a new look. This new partnership is projected to save customers 30% compared to subscribing to each service separately.

Apple TV recently changed its branding and is now offering a new subscription deal. This comes after a price increase in August, which raised the monthly cost from $9.99 to $12.99. The new offer bundles Apple TV and Peacock together for $14.99 a month. Both NBCUniversal and Apple state that this package will save customers over 30% compared to subscribing to each service separately. It will be available starting Monday, October 20th.

As a total streaming fan, I’m really digging this Apple TV and Peacock partnership. The best part? Apple TV remains ad-free, and you can bundle it with Peacock. You can get Peacock Premium (with ads) for $14.99 a month, or go ad-free with Peacock Premium Plus for $19.99. But it doesn’t stop there! Both services are letting subscribers dip into each other’s content. If you’re on Apple TV, you’ll get free access to three episodes of popular shows like *Silo*, *Foundation*, and *Slow Horses*. And if you’re a Peacock subscriber, you can check out three episodes of things like *Law & Order*, *Bel-Air*, and *Twisted Metal*. It’s a win-win for binge-watchers like me!

A surprising agreement was reached after NBCUniversal made distribution deals with Amazon and Google/YouTube, just as the NBA season begins, with some games available only on Peacock. Separately, Apple is marking six years of its streaming service, recently simplifying the name by removing “plus”. For the first time, Apple will offer a 35% discount on Apple One to those subscribed to the Family or Premier plans – something they haven’t done before with any of their bundles.

Several Other Streaming Services Underwent Major Changes

Streaming services are becoming more annoying for viewers, and things aren’t likely to improve soon. Disney recently announced that Hulu will eventually disappear, following its complete purchase of the service in June. After a few months of planning, Disney has begun the transition, already replacing its Star platform with Hulu in many countries. Disney plans to fully remove the Hulu streaming service by 2026.

Beyond Disney’s moves with Hulu, there’s been another shift in the streaming world. Warner Bros. Discovery is rebranding its HBO Max service on November 17th. Meanwhile, CNN is preparing to launch its own streaming channel, though details about its name and release date haven’t been revealed yet. This change follows HBO Max reverting to its original name earlier this year, after briefly being known as ‘Max’ in 2022. In August, the service also announced it would start cracking down on password sharing before the end of the year.
