Minions 3’s Monstrous Title Possibly Revealed

A new Minions movie is confirmed! Illumination, the studio behind the popular animated films, is working on expanding the Minions universe. Although not much is known yet, recent updates and a possible title suggest what’s next for the franchise after the huge success of Minions: The Rise of Gru.

Minions 3 title rumored to be Minions & Monsters

A recent rumor suggests the next Minions movie, currently known as Minions 3, will be titled “Minions & Monsters.” The information came from industry source @MyTimeToShineHello, who shared it on X (formerly Twitter) on October 18, 2025. The news quickly spread online, but Universal Pictures and Illumination haven’t confirmed whether the title is accurate.

Universal Pictures recently announced changes to its film release schedule. The next Minions movie, Minions 3, is now scheduled to come out on July 1, 2026, a year earlier than originally planned. To accommodate this, Shrek 5 has been moved from July 1, 2026, to December 23, 2026. Another upcoming Illumination film, previously slated for March 19, 2027, has also been pushed back to a later date (according to The Wrap).

The Minions movies, which started as a part of the Despicable Me series, are still incredibly popular and profitable for Illumination. The 2022 film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, made almost $1 billion globally, proving that audiences want to see more Minions adventures.

Illumination hasn’t announced details about the story or who will be in the next movie yet. But the possible title, ‘Minions & Monsters,’ is getting fans excited and leading to guesses about a fresh, new approach to the film.

Universal and Illumination haven’t officially announced the movie’s title or given any production details. As of October 2025, all that’s confirmed is that Illumination is making the film and Universal has scheduled it for release.
