Emily in Paris’ Lucas Bravo Addresses Absence From Season 5 Teaser

Emily may have left Paris, but it looks like Lucas Bravo is very much still there.

The first preview of season five of Emily in Paris shows Emily (Lily Collins) starting a new chapter in Rome. Notably missing from the glimpse is Gabriel (Lucas), who was a recurring romantic interest for Emily throughout the first four seasons.

But as for what that means for his fate when series returns Dec. 18?

Lucas recently told TopMob News he enjoys the speculation surrounding the new season and his absence from the trailer. He hinted at having inside information but ultimately decided to remain tight-lipped, saying he’s happy to let the rumors continue and won’t reveal anything just yet.

The 37-year-old actor, who previously sparked debate by suggesting he was considering leaving the show because he wasn’t enjoying his role as Gabriel, wouldn’t say whether his lack of appearance in the latest trailer meant he was leaving for good.

“I don’t know,” he quipped, adding coyly, “I’m not in it.”

I’m completely obsessed with Emily in Paris, and honestly, Lucas is playing it super close to the chest about season five! I’ve heard it’s going to be amazing, with Emily moving to Italy, and so many of my favorites returning – Ashley Park as Mindy, Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello, and even Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie! He’s keeping all the details under wraps, but I’m already counting down the days!

Back in August, the actor was spotted getting cozy with his former partner, Shailene Woodley, on the set of a romantic comedy – though they broke up just a month later. Additionally, Netflix released some photos of the actor, playing the character Gabriel, as part of the season five promotional material.

Although Lucas hasn’t revealed much about his comedy project, he did share details about his role in the upcoming HBO Max drama, The Seduction. This series is based on the famous novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

It was a fun and unexpected creative opportunity when Lucas joined the show to play Gercourt, a character who wasn’t originally intended to be a major role in the story.

I got to completely reimagine something iconic that’s been around for years, adding my own touch with some new elements,” he told TopMob in an interview with Vincent Lacoste. “It was thrilling to rework a classic and delve into a character who, now that I’m no longer playing him, I can honestly say is completely unhinged.

Don’t miss the premiere of The Seduction on HBO Max November 14th. While you wait, here’s a preview of what’s coming in season five of Emily in Paris.
