The Apothecary Diaries Has Exciting Surprises For Fans Ahead of Season 3

Season 2 of The Apothecary Diaries finished in July, and the announcement of a third season was brief – just a short teaser without a release date. However, on October 22nd, 2025, the anime celebrated its second anniversary and revealed more details. Season 3 will be split into two parts. The first part is scheduled for Fall 2026, likely in early to mid-October, and the second part will arrive in Spring 2027, following a short break over the Winter. Plus, a movie is also in the works! Fans are thrilled with these announcements, as the story continues to improve with each installment.

The anime has covered the first four volumes of the original light novel in its first two seasons. Season three will start with volume five, following Jinshi and Maomao as they journey to northern farming villages where a significant problem is developing. The Moon Prince, as usual, asks the talented apothecary to help him investigate. As they unravel new mysteries, Jinshi and Maomao also become more open with each other, leading to a deepening of their relationship. The creators are actively building excitement for the upcoming season and film with these new developments.

The Apothecary Diaries Announces a Special Screening in Japan

Starting February 15th, 2026, the first two seasons of the anime will be shown in Japanese theaters. Screenings will take place in five cities across Japan until the end of May, with episodes shown every other week – six episodes per screening. Each event will also feature a special appearance by the voice actors. On the first day of Season 1, Aoi Yuki (Maomao), Takeo Otsuka (Jinshi), and Takuya Kirimoto (Lakan) will be present. When Season 2 begins on April 12th, fans can meet Aoi Yuki, Takeo Otsuka, and Asami Seto (Loulan).

The Apothecary Diaries Has a Few More Upcoming and Ongoing Projects

In addition to the screening, the anime is continuing a popular side project called ‘Four Seasons With Maomao and Jinshi.’ This project shares beautiful artwork of the characters alongside plants representing each season, releasing a new image on the 22nd of every month. The October artwork, revealed alongside news about Season 3 and a new movie, featured Jinshi, Basen, and Lihaku surrounded by osmanthus flowers, which bloom at the start of autumn.

The website also announced that the anime’s popular Asia Exhibition, which started in Tokyo this March, will come to Hong Kong in November 2025. After that, it will travel to cities in mainland China, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, among other locations. This August, a Garden Party was also revealed, planned for next summer and promising fun surprises and gifts for those who attend. The Apothecary Diaries is a very popular anime on Crunchyroll, and it continues to grow in popularity with new seasons and various projects underway.
