Halo Studios has revealed a complete remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, now called Halo: Campaign Evolved. It’s scheduled to release in 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and for the first time ever in the series, PlayStation 5. You can watch the initial trailer below.
This remake of the original Halo stays true to the classic while updating it with modern graphics and cutscenes. It features enhanced navigation, a remastered soundtrack, and new voice acting from the original cast. Players can also discover skulls and utilize a wider range of weapons, including the Needle Rifle, Battle Rifle, and Energy Sword.
The game includes three brand-new missions with Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, taking place before the main story. These missions offer fresh locations, enemies, and characters, and are perfect for playing with a friend locally via split-screen (on consoles only). You can also team up with up to three other players online, with cross-platform play and the ability to carry your progress across different devices.
The game also adds sprinting, lets you steal enemy vehicles, and introduces the Wraith, which you can now drive. As rumored, there won’t be any competitive multiplayer. We’ll share more information soon.
