The classic game Halo is getting a modern update! A remake, titled Halo: Campaign Evolved, is in development at Halo Studios using the powerful Unreal Engine 5. This version will feature updated graphics, the ability to play the campaign online with up to three friends, and new missions that take place before the story of the original game. You can also try out some new gameplay footage from the fourth mission, “The Silent Cartographer,” right now!
The game feels just like you remember it: a Pelican crashing, Master Chief battling the Covenant, the iconic Warthog drop, and sneaking into the map facility. Now you can sprint to move faster, but the core gameplay – including the familiar feel of weapons like the Plasma Pistol and M6D Pistol – remains the same.
While a specific release date hasn’t been announced, Halo: Campaign Evolved is scheduled to launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will feature cross-play, letting players on different platforms play together, and cross-progression, allowing them to continue their progress on any supported device. Console players can also enjoy split-screen co-op. More information about the game’s updates and enhancements will be shared soon.
