Michael B. Jordan is having a fantastic year, especially after starring in the highly praised thriller, Sinners, which is generating awards buzz. Now, he’s reportedly set to lead the upcoming Miami Vice reboot, and things are getting even more exciting! Discussions are underway to bring another major movie star on board, and this potential casting is a huge win for the film – it’s a pairing I’m really excited about!
Michael B. Jordan is being considered to star as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs in a new movie based on the popular 1980s TV show. Naturally, everyone wondered who would play his partner, James “Sonny” Crockett. According to Variety, Austin Butler is now in talks to take on that role. While neither actor has officially signed on yet, this casting news is generating a lot of excitement.

I don’t claim to be an expert on Miami Vice, but based on what I know of the series, I think both Butler and Jordan would be fantastic choices for a reboot. Butler would fit the role of Sonny just as well as Jordan would as Rico. They both have that same captivating charm that Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas brought to Crockett and Tubbs. This reboot has the potential to be a huge, classic blockbuster with two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, and I’m really excited about it!

Hopefully, Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler will sign on for this new movie soon. If they do, I’m confident Universal will see a big profit at the box office.
I’m really excited about the potential Miami Vice revival, but while we’re all waiting for news, I’ve been looking at the 2025 movie release schedule. It’s a great way to see what other cool films are coming out before the year is over!
