From now on, Hugh Jackmanwants whatever is best for his kids.

Hugh Jackman shared whether his children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20, will pursue acting careers like their parents, including his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.

Hugh spoke with Francesca Amiker of TopMob News on October 26th at the world premiere of his new film, Song Sung Blue, co-starring Kate Hudson. He said both potential candidates would be strong, but ultimately, he wants them to pursue what makes them happy.

Although Hugh Jackman recently finalized his divorce from Deborra-Lee, he’s committed to supporting his children in whatever they choose to do. Both he and his ex-wife emphasized that family remains their top priority when they announced their separation in September 2023, after 27 years of marriage.

Before that event, Hugh had been consistently reminding his children how fortunate they were. He made his first public appearance with girlfriend Sutton Foster at the premiere of Song Sung Blue.

In a 2018 interview with People magazine, he explained that his children are fortunate and he wants them to understand they have a duty to use their good fortune to make a difference in the lives of others.

Hugh, 57, shared that he often reminds his children how fortunate they are. He feels incredibly blessed, noting that their family enjoys a wonderful home and lives in amazing locations that many people only dream about.

For her part, Deborra-Lee, 69, has also given a peek into her dynamic with her kids.

Becoming a parent has been a surprisingly enriching experience, and my children have helped me grow in ways I never imagined, she shared with People magazine in 2020. She also explained that parenthood demands honesty, as children have a remarkable ability to reveal your weaknesses and shortcomings – forcing you to confront them.

Deborra-Lee emphasized the importance of self-reflection, saying, “It’s crucial to take a good look at who you are, especially when you want to be a good parent.”
