Bridgerton Creator Joins Kim Kardashian for New Netflix Show

Kim Kardashian’s new show will surely be the talk of the ton.

It’s not surprising news that Kim Kardashian is working with Chris Van Dusen, the creator of Bridgerton, on a new Netflix series called Calabasas. Kim, 45, shared the announcement on her Instagram Stories after it was reported by Deadline.

Chris shared his excitement about working with Kim and Emma Roberts—his fellow star from American Horror Story—on the new series. He even posted on October 24th, calling the collaboration a dream come true, and noted that Emma Roberts will also be a producer.

The TV producer, known for shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal, created Bridgerton and led the show as showrunner for its first two seasons. He then tagged both Kim and Emma with the message, “LET’S GO.”

Chris is taking over as showrunner for Calabasas, replacing I. Marlene King, who previously created Pretty Little Liars, several sources report.

The new Netflix series is inspired by Via Bleidner’s 2021 novel, If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now. It centers on Via, a sixteen-year-old who switches from a private Catholic school to Calabasas High and finds herself feeling isolated and experiencing a significant change in her surroundings.

Okay, so we don’t know much about this new series yet, but honestly, it’s enough that Kim is a Bridgerton fanatic like me! It’s seriously the cutest thing ever. And get this – Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope, said meeting Kim was her favorite fan interaction! Can you believe it?! They clearly adore her just as much as she adores them. I’m living for this crossover!

During a 2021 cast Q&A, Nicola playfully referred to Kim Kardashian as both a close personal friend and her best friend.

The actress, age 38, who plays Penelope Featherington on the show, said she was texting with Kim Kardashian at the time, and Kim was asking her lots of questions about the series.

“She’s just so lovely!” Nicola exclaimed. “She’s got a WhatsApp group dedicated to Bridgerton and has watched the show at least six times!”

And Lady Whistledown herself dubbed her, “Lady Kardashian of Calabasas.”

Okay, so I’m totally obsessed with finding out everything about Calabasas, but while I’m waiting for more news, I figured I’d share what’s been happening with all my favorite TV shows! Here’s the scoop on which ones are getting canceled and which ones are thankfully getting another season!
