A new animated series based on the popular video game character Crash Bandicoot is coming to Netflix. The same studio that created the Sonic Prime animated series is working on it.
According to streaming news site What’s on Netflix, WildBrain Studio is now developing a TV show based on the former PlayStation mascot.
I’m so excited for this new animated series! Netflix has been on a roll with adaptations lately – I absolutely loved what they did with Castlevania, Tomb Raider, Arcane, and even Splinter Cell. Hopefully, this one will be just as good!
Crash Bandicoot has explored the possibility of becoming a cartoon before. Activision once made a deal with Amazon Studios to create an adaptation, but the project was eventually cancelled.
Netflix isn’t sharing many details about this new project yet, and they haven’t announced who will be starring in it. We’ll likely have to wait for an official announcement before we know more.
With the show’s release, it makes us think a new game would be great. The Crash Bandicoot series hasn’t had a lot of positive attention since the disappointing online game, Crash Team Rumble.
Now that Microsoft has bought Activision Blizzard for nearly $70 billion, they’re in charge of this series. It’s good to keep that in mind.
Whatever happens next for the ‘Coot, then, will be at the behest of the Redmond firm.
