The Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has effectively connected the main Marvel Cinematic Universe with the darker, more realistic tone of the previous Netflix Daredevil series, and it brought back popular characters that viewers were excited to see again. The first season successfully reintroduced the intense rivalry between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), and Dex Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), capturing the gritty, street-level conflicts that made the original shows so compelling. Because of its success, the show has been quickly renewed for a third season, following the planned conclusion of the storyline involving Mayor Fisk in the second season. Although Marvel is keeping details about season three secret, Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye, has offered a hint about what’s to come, leading fans to wonder about the show’s overall direction.
At the Nerdtroplis convention, Wilson Bethel revealed he’ll be back for a third season of the show. He told the audience that a new season has already been confirmed and production will begin next year, promising more appearances from Bullseye, Kingpin, and other characters. Bethel also hinted that his character, Dex, will have a significantly expanded role in the upcoming second season, delving deeper into his complex personality. He even described a fight sequence planned for Season 2 as “amazing” and unlike anything viewers have seen before.
Charlie Cox’s comments, combined with recent on-set pictures of Daredevil and Bullseye fighting as a team, hint that the new season will feature a surprising temporary partnership. Since Bullseye strongly dislikes Wilson Fisk, it seems they might team up to take down a shared enemy. However, with Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones and rumors of other Defenders appearing, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is beginning to feel overstuffed. It looks like the conflict with Bullseye and Kingpin won’t be fully resolved this season, and will continue into a potential third season, suggesting the show is planning a much larger story than can comfortably fit into just one season.
Is Bringing Bullseye and Kingpin Back for Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again a Good Idea?

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again carefully built up Wilson Fisk’s plan to control New York City, leading viewers to believe Season 2 would be about Daredevil fighting back against the corrupt mayor. But with news that both Bullseye and Kingpin will be back for Season 3, it seems the show might be extending their storyline over three seasons, which would be a mistake. The first season had a difficult production process, including major changes during filming. Season 2 was reportedly written as a final chapter to the Fisk storyline, and changing that plan again could create pacing issues and weaken the overall story.
It’s possible that the story arc involving Mayor Fisk will wrap up in Season 2, but both he and Kingpin could still be important characters in a new storyline for Season 3. However, constantly focusing on the same villains could be a problem. Daredevil has a rich history of compelling antagonists in the comics, and giving Fisk and Bullseye a break would allow other villains to step forward and challenge Matt Murdock in fresh ways. If Daredevil: Born Again keeps relying on the same characters for a third season, it risks becoming predictable and limiting the show’s potential to explore the wider world of its hero.
