The first trailer for the new action thriller, Wildcat, is here, and it looks explosive! Kate Beckinsale, known for her roles in Underworld and Mortal Kombat, stars as a former elite special agent who reunites her team for a dangerous mission: to do whatever it takes – even cross the line – to protect her child. Expect plenty of intense gun fights and impressive martial arts action.
The action thriller, previously called Lioness, has been renamed Wildcat and will be released soon. A new trailer is available below. Wildcat features a parent turned action hero, similar to Liam Neeson’s character Bryan Mills in Taken.
The film, originally titled Wildcat, was renamed to avoid confusion with the series Special Ops: Lioness. It’s now confirmed that Wildcat will hit theaters and be available digitally on November 25, 2025, through Capstone Pictures. That means fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Kate Beckinsale as an action hero mother and her team take on a seemingly impossible mission.
The film stars Kate Beckinsale and Lewis Tan, along with Rasmus Hardiker, Alice Krige, Bailey Patrick, Tom Bennett, Matt Willis, and Roxy Striar. Action fans will be pleased to know James Nunn, the director behind the Scott Adkins thrillers One Shot and One More Shot, is at the helm. You can find the official movie summary below…
A former team of elite operatives comes together to attempt a dangerous robbery, all to save the eight-year-old daughter of their team leader (Kate Beckinsale).
Kate Beckinsale Is Fast Becoming the Action Hero You’d Want as a Family Member
Ever since Liam Neeson’s intense rescue mission in the 2008 film Taken, action movie stars have been trying to become known as the ultimate heroic parent. Now, Kate Beckinsale is joining that competition.
Kate Beckinsale is well-known for her work in action films, having starred in the Underworld series, Total Recall, Van Helsing, and others. She recently returned to the genre with last year’s Canary Black, a thriller directed by Pierre Morel, the director of Taken. The film features Beckinsale as a skilled CIA agent forced to choose between her country and her husband, who has been kidnapped by terrorists, and highlights her talent for playing characters who protect their families.
Kate Beckinsale will star in the upcoming drama Stolen Girl, following her role in Wildcat. The film is based on a true story and centers on Mara, a mother whose ex-husband takes their daughter, Amina, and flees to the Middle East. Determined to get her daughter back, Mara joins forces with Robeson, a former marine with expertise in child abduction, played by Scott Eastwood.
