I was honestly surprised to hear about South Park‘s twenty-eighth season, especially since the last one was so short with just five episodes! It sounds like Matt and Trey are switching things up, moving away from weekly releases so they have more time to really nail the stories for Kenny, Cartman, Kyle, and Stan. They’re already hinting at a Halloween episode this spooky season, but don’t expect it to drop on Wednesdays like we’re used to! It’s cool to see South Park embracing the seasonal spirit and trying something new with how they release episodes.
The new Halloween episode of South Park won’t air tonight on Comedy Central as originally planned. Instead, it will premiere on October 31st at 10 PM Eastern time. Titled “The Woman in the Hat,” the episode involves a haunting at the White House and Stan’s concerns about the show becoming too focused on politics. The story centers on a disruptive spirit in the East Wing and follows recent episodes where creators Trey Parker and Stone have openly addressed political issues. It will be interesting to see how this ghost affects President Trump and even Satan, especially considering the recent renovations at the White House that have been widely reported.
South Park’s Spooky Twenty-Eighth Season
I noticed some really strange stuff in the first episode of South Park‘s twenty-eighth season, and it wasn’t even the Halloween special yet! They brought in Peter Thiel, the billionaire, and had him battling the Anti-Christ, which somehow led him right to Eric Cartman’s house. It was wild! Cartman was hysterically laughing at the “6,7” meme, and then this whole *Exorciststyle scene started where Thiel tried to perform an exorcism on him. It made me wonder if any of this will connect to the Halloween episode, but honestly, it’s anyone’s guess.
This year’s Halloween special isn’t the first time the town of South Park has dealt with the supernatural. The show’s very first season featured a memorable Halloween episode where a strange outbreak gave everyone pinkeye and turned them into zombies. While not every season has included a Halloween episode, there have been almost a dozen spooky installments throughout the series’ run on Comedy Central.
After the Halloween episode airs on October 31st, new episodes of South Park will be released every other week for the rest of the season. The next episodes are scheduled for November 12th, November 26th, and December 10th. While a release date for season 29 hasn’t been announced yet, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have a deal with Paramount to continue making the show for years, so fans can expect more episodes in 2026.
