Remedy Entertainment, after seeing revenue and profits fall last quarter, is moving developers off of its game FBC: Firebreak and onto other projects currently in development. While the company says it’s still following its planned schedule, this move strongly suggests that support for Firebreak will end after a major update planned for March 2026.
Games like Control 2 and the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake are still actively being developed, but don’t have confirmed release dates yet. Even more intriguing, Remedy is also exploring a brand new project that’s just entered the early “proof of concept” phase. This project wasn’t mentioned at all in Remedy’s recent business review covering January to September 2025.
The publisher prefers to release and own the intellectual property of its games. It highlights Control and Alan Wake as its main franchises and plans to focus on developing those further. It’s likely this new project will fit within those existing universes, though the company seems to be moving away from multiplayer games for now.
The developer saw a significant boost in revenue from game sales and royalties, particularly from Control (which surpassed five million units sold last August), Alan Wake 2, and deals related to the FBC: Firebreak subscription service.
