It’s been almost 50 years since Star Wars first captivated audiences with its journey to a distant galaxy, and the franchise continues to expand with new shows and movies. Starting with Star Wars: Droids in the 1980s, Lucasfilm has consistently added to the story through series like The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, and Skeleton Crew. While fans eagerly anticipate upcoming films like The Mandalorian and Grogu and Star Wars: Starfighter, they can now enjoy the third season of a popular Star Wars show, currently available on Disney+.
All nine episodes of Star Wars: Visions Season 3 became available on Disney+ on October 29th. This animated series showcases the world of Star Wars through a series of independent, short animated films set within, or drawing inspiration from, the Star Wars universe. The new season includes nine original shorts created by different Japanese anime studios, such as David Production, Kamikaze Douga, and TRIGGER. It also continues stories from Season 1, including those from “The Duel,” “The Village Bride,” and “The Ninth Jedi.”
Star Wars: Visions Is One of the Best Titles from the Disney Era
Star Wars: Visions is a welcome and exciting addition to the Star Wars universe, and arguably one of the best projects Disney has made with the franchise so far. It breaks away from the main storyline, allowing for completely new characters, locations, and ideas, and gives filmmakers a chance to tell truly unique stories. In this series, you might see a Jedi forming a rock band or droids hoping to become Jedi Knights – it’s that different!
As a fan, I’ve been blown away by Star Wars: Visions. It’s not just that the stories are incredibly creative – it’s a real visual feast! Each episode is made by a different animation studio, which means every one looks and feels totally unique. It really pushes the boundaries of what a Star Wars story can be. And people clearly agree – it’s one of the highest-rated Star Wars shows ever, with amazing scores on Rotten Tomatoes. The second season was especially incredible, even earning a perfect 100% score from critics!
New TV Shows and Movies Coming to Disney+
With Star Wars: Visions Season 3 finishing up Disney+’s October releases, November brings a wave of new titles. Starting November 1st, you can enjoy Seasons 1-3 of CoComelon JJ’s Animal Time and Joy to the World. Throughout the month, look out for additions like the Jonas Brothers’ holiday film Jonas Christmas Movie, the Prep and Landing: Snowball Protocol special, and the animated series Disney Twisted-Wonderland.
