The Princess And The Frog Gets a New Wave of Funko Pops

I’m a big fan of The Princess and the Frog, and while it didn’t make huge numbers at the box office, the Funko Pops have always been super popular! That’s why I’m excited about the new wave coming out. We’re getting a glittery Tiana, Louis and Raymond together as a pair, and finally – finally – a Charlotte Funko Pop! They’re even doing a rare ‘Chase’ version of Charlotte where her mascara is running, just like that really emotional scene at the end of the movie. It’s a great touch!

Many people feel that The Princess and the Frog doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, especially compared to other Disney films made after 2000. Lucy Owens from Comicbook notes that while critics generally liked the movie, it didn’t do well at the box office, which was unfair. Tiana is a particularly inspiring Disney character, and her determination really connected with viewers. Like Hercules, The Princess and the Frog has steadily gained a dedicated fanbase over the years.

It’s disappointing news for fans, but the planned Disney+ series Tiana has been cancelled, along with another unannounced animated movie. These changes likely stem from Disney+’s struggles as a streaming service, and aren’t a good sign for the future of Disney animation.
