Phwoar, who likes a good ol’ 90s shmup, then?
Good news for fans! H2 Interactive is releasing the Raiden Fighters Remix Collection on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 around the world on February 26th. This means players everywhere will get the game on the same day as Japan, so there’s no need to wait for imports.
This collection brings together the three classic Raiden Fighters games – the original (1996), its sequel (1997), and Raiden Fighters Jet (1998) – all in one convenient package.
So, you can buy each game separately on the PS Store if you want, but honestly, they’re all great, so why would you? They’re also releasing a physical bundle with some cool, exclusive artwork, and that’ll be available everywhere.

Okay, so the games themselves feel really true to the originals, which is awesome. But they’ve also added some little things to make playing them just… better, you know? Little quality-of-life tweaks that make the whole experience smoother.
Here are the modern conveniences you can expect, courtesy of the press release:
- Retry
- A feature that allows players to return to the beginning of a stage has been newly added, which significantly improves the player’s efficiency.
- Beginner-Friendly
- A special mode has been added in which enemies do not fire bullets at the player, making the game more accessible to newcomers.
- Settings Customisation
- Players can start the game with their preferred settings pre-configured, allowing for a more personalised and convenient gameplay experience.
- Background Music Customisation
- Players can customize the background music for each stage, with a wide selection of newly remixed tracks also included.
As a remix album, you can look forward to 30 songs that have been newly rearranged by artists like Soshi Hosoi, Yuki Arai, and Kazushi Tsurukubo.
