Be warned: This article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga! The incredibly popular anime series, Jujutsu Kaisen, is set to return for a third season in January as part of the Winter 2026 anime lineup. This season will focus on the fallout from the Shibuya Incident, with the sorcerers working to both defeat the villains and rescue Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm. The sorcerers suffered heavy losses after Gojo was defeated – exactly as Kenjaku intended. But even with the devastating events of Shibuya, they have no time to rest, as Kenjaku is already making his next move.
Season 3 will cover the Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs, leading into the intense Culling Game – a battle royale designed by Kenjaku to carry out his sinister plan. Expect even more action and higher stakes than before, as the characters face their toughest fights yet. The Culling Game is the second-to-last arc of the series, building towards a final showdown with Ryomen Sukuna and revealing the villain’s true goals. With all this in store, Season 3 promises to be even more thrilling than the previous two seasons.
3) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Will Introduce Several New Characters

The third season promises exciting new characters. As the story progresses through arcs like the Extermination Arc and the Culling Game, we’ll meet both allies and enemies that have remained popular with fans even after the manga finished. The Culling Game arc especially introduces a lot of new fighters, many of whom are either newly empowered sorcerers or ancient ones reborn into new bodies, similar to Yuji Itadori.
2) Maki’s Revenge Against the Zenin Clan Is One of the Coldest Moments Ever

Maki always resented the Zenin Clan, but their actions after the Shibuya Incident made her hatred even stronger. They used the confusion to try and kill the twin sisters, considering them a disgrace to the family. It was their own father, Ogi Zenin, who stepped forward to carry out the deed. Despite Maki’s efforts, she couldn’t save Mai. This loss unlocked a hidden power within Maki, and she unleashed her rage, single-handedly destroying the entire Zenin clan’s strongest fighters.
1) Yuta Okkotsu Returns Stronger Than Ever

Yuta trained with Miguel in Africa for about a year, causing him to miss the initial events in Shibuya. When he finally arrived, he was determined to help his friends. He played a key role in making it appear as though Yuji had died, protecting him from further attention from higher-ups. Already a strong sorcerer as shown in the prequel movie, Yuta became even more powerful during his year of training. During the Culling Game, he faced incredibly strong opponents and was even described as the second strongest sorcerer after Satoru Gojo.
