Xbox Series X/S fans have been eagerly awaiting a remake of Silent Hill 2, and it looks like that wait might soon be over. The Entertainment Software and Rating Board (ESRB) has officially rated the game for the console, suggesting a release is on the horizon.
With its “M” rating for mature audiences (17+), due to intense blood, gore, suggestive themes, and depictions of torture, an announcement about this game seems likely soon. Previous reports suggested it would be revealed alongside an update for the PS5 Pro and the new Return to Silent Hill movie, which is expected in January 2026.
Many fans expected news about Born From a Wish, which is now believed to be a separate downloadable content package. However, Salóme Rannveig Gunnarsdóttir, the actress who plays Maria, has said she hasn’t been asked to participate in it.
Keep an eye out for potential news – an announcement could be coming at The Game Awards on December 11th. Currently, the Silent Hill 2 remake is available on PlayStation 5 and PC, and has recently been added to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Worldwide shipments have now exceeded 2.5 million copies.
