MTV Cancels Ridiculousness After 46 Seasons

There will be no more uncontrollable urges on MTV.

After 46 seasons, the TV network has decided not to renew Ridiculousness, the show hosted by Rob Dyrdek since 2011.

MTV is changing its approach to programming, focusing on carefully selected shows with new and diverse content. While the network will continue to air existing episodes of Ridiculousness until 2026, they won’t be making any new ones.

Good news for fans of the show—which featured popular internet videos—it won’t be disappearing completely! All past seasons will still be shown on MTV, and some will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

Rob hosted the show alongside Sterling “Steelo” Brim and Lauren “Lolo” Wood. Chanel West Coast was also a cohost, but she left the series in March 2023.

After her exit, Chanel shared insight into her decision to pursue independent projects.

She shared that she’d dreamed of this moment since childhood, recalling videos of herself as a young girl confidently declaring she would have her own TV show, even better than popular channels like MTV and VH1. She said she made those predictions when she was eight years old, and now feels like those dreams have finally come true.

After Chanel announced her departure, Ridiculousness penned an homage to the longtime host.

Chanel’s personality, laugh, and overall presence will be greatly missed on the show,” the show shared on Instagram. “We’re excited to see what she accomplishes in the future as she pursues new creative opportunities.
