Jujutsu Kaisen has quickly become incredibly popular in the action-adventure anime and manga world, largely thanks to the amazing anime adaptation by MAPPA. With a new season of the anime coming next year and a continuation of the story in the Weekly Shonen Jump manga, it’s an exciting time to be a fan. Now, creator Gege Akutami is taking the franchise in a completely unexpected direction with a brand new story, showing that Jujutsu Kaisen still has a lot more to offer.
The popular anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen recently announced several upcoming projects during a livestream event. One of the most exciting is a new live-action audio drama called Jujutsu Kaisen – Juju Sanpo. This drama will focus on everyday moments in the characters’ lives – something the series has done before – but this time presented in an entirely new audio format. What’s especially noteworthy is that the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, is writing and illustrating new content for this project, marking a return to these characters after the manga concluded. While a release date hasn’t been announced yet, fans can expect more information as the third season of the anime nears.
Jujutsu Tech’s Doors Prepare to Open Once Again
The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen will begin in January, immediately addressing the fallout from the Shibuya Incident. The story will primarily center on the Culling Game. While the new season won’t air on television until 2026, fans can see the first episodes sooner with the film Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution. This movie combines key moments from the Shibuya Arc with the first three episodes of season three and will be released in theaters on December 5th.
Despite the main Jujutsu Kaisen manga finishing last year, the story continues in a new series appearing in Weekly Shonen Jump. Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is set decades after the original, following the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki. The sequel still delivers the action and supernatural elements fans love, but with a surprising twist: the addition of aliens! While it may take a while for this new series to be adapted into an anime, Jujutsu Kaisen‘s huge popularity suggests that Modulo will likely be animated eventually.
