Wow, I was so surprised during Halloween Week on Strictly! Judge Motsi Mabuse actually said one of the couples could make it all the way to the final – I definitely didn’t see that coming, and it’s really exciting to think about!
This week’s show opened with TV star Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington dancing their American Smooth to Bonnie Tyler’s hit song, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
The performance received enthusiastic applause and praise from the judges, but Motsi Mabuse’s comments were particularly memorable.
She started by saying she was amazed you agreed to perform on our show. She especially enjoyed how the show opened, praising the strong character work and the overall atmosphere it created.
“I think you did so, so well, so for me, I think you are a contender for the final.”
The other judges didn’t agree with the harshest critique, but they all had positive things to say about the performance, especially how much Pattison had improved since the show started.
Shirley Ballas noted a significant improvement in the ballroom dance compared to the performance in week two.
Anton du Beke echoed those sentiments, describing it as a “terrific performance.”
Craig Revel Horwood was the only judge with significant criticism of the dance, though he still gave a respectable 7 out of 10. Combined with scores of 8 from the other judges, the pair achieved a strong total of 31.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 2nd November at 7:15pm.
