A sneak peek reveals what Shrek and Fiona’s children look like as adults in the upcoming Shrek 5. After first appearing in the early 2000s, these characters are now all grown up. Becoming a father in the third Shrek movie brought new storylines to the franchise, and the fifth film promises a fresh take on the family dynamic that fans haven’t seen in over twenty years.
A sneak peek at Shrek’s three children has been revealed in a new image from a Macy’s Day Parade float. The float, celebrating the upcoming release of Shrek 5, will appear in this year’s parade in New York City on November 27th. The image on the side of the float shows Shrek and Donkey alongside the animated ogre’s teenage triplets playfully interacting with each other.

Shrek and Fiona’s triplets – Fergus, Farkle, and Felicia – first appeared in the movie Shrek the Third back in 2007, when they were babies. The upcoming Shrek 5 will show them as teenagers, and Zendaya (known for her roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) will be voicing Felicia. The actors who will voice Fergus and Farkle haven’t been revealed yet.

A fifth Shrek movie is in the works from DreamWorks, marking the first new installment since Shrek Forever After in 2011. Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy will return as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey, though the remaining cast members (besides Zendaya) haven’t been revealed yet. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 30, 2027.
Here’s What Shrek’s Kids Did In Previous Shrek Movies

Shrek and Fiona’s children haven’t been central to the Shrek movies so far. They were first introduced at the very end of Shrek the Third (2007), and briefly appeared at the beginning of Shrek Forever After (2011). This appearance showed the family celebrating their children’s birthday before a series of events led Shrek to wish for his old life and inadvertently lose his family.
Beyond their movie appearances, Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots also starred in the 2010 Halloween special, Scared Shrekless. In it, the three playfully frighten some boys in their swamp while the boys’ parents are celebrating. Later, Shrek and Fiona have them scare trick-or-treaters while they join Donkey and other fairytale friends on a trip to Duloc to share spooky stories.
Since Shrek 5 isn’t coming out for over a year, DreamWorks will likely keep plot details about Shrek’s children under wraps for quite some time. This also means they won’t reveal any changes they’re making to the story – changes like the surprise introduction of Zendaya’s character, which was shown in the first teaser.
The new movie is highly anticipated, and the triplets are expected to have their most significant roles yet, particularly with Zendaya playing one of them (you can find details about Zendaya’s other projects here). Dreamworks will use the Macy’s Day Parade float as a first look for fans, offering a small preview before revealing more about the movie’s plot.
