Now that November is here, all the major streaming services are updating their selections with lots of new movies and TV shows. Netflix is included in this wave of changes, and you’ll find a significantly different catalog today compared to just a few days ago. While some titles have been removed, many others have been added, including a compelling crime thriller from 2021 that you might have missed when it first came out.
John Lee Hancock’s The Little Things was notable for being one of the first films released in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time in 2021. While it didn’t immediately become a hit with audiences, its recent addition to Netflix could help it find a much wider viewership, especially considering its compelling story and talented cast.
The movie became available on Netflix on Saturday, November 1st, bringing it back to one of the most popular streaming platforms. Netflix often takes films that didn’t get much attention in theaters – especially those with well-known actors – and turns them into streaming successes, and The Little Things is a perfect example of that.
In the film The Little Things, Denzel Washington plays Joe Deacon, a sheriff’s deputy in California still troubled by an unsolved murder case from his past. When a new killing appears connected to the old one, Deacon teams up with an LA detective, played by Rami Malek. Jared Leto plays Albert Sparma, the strange repairman who becomes the prime suspect.
It’s unusual, but the main actors in The Little Things all have at least one Oscar. That means the entire lead cast are Academy Award winners – a pretty rare accomplishment!

The movie came out in January 2021, a time when films often don’t perform well, which may have discouraged some viewers.
