However, it seems the whispers from within Marvel’s ranks are growing louder, labeling this production as their biggest misstep yet. The mounting evidence only serves to strengthen this claim, leaving me with a sense of trepidation about this highly anticipated release.

The actor Anthony Ramos, who stars in Ironheart, has confirmed that the show was filmed approximately three years ago, which implies production occurred around mid-to-late 2021 or early 2022. This significant delay in release, with the series finally premiering in 2025, has fanned rumors suggesting Marvel may have doubted the project’s potential success entirely.
Re-Edits, Reshoots, and Rotten Ratings
According to Nerdrotic, it appears that the show underwent an unusual number of re-edits, hinting at an uncommon level of production disorder for a studio as resourceful as Marvel. This extensive re-editing led to a fragmented, aimless series, which even struggled to captivate die-hard Marvel fans.
The new series from Disney was largely unpublicized, with minimal marketing efforts made for press coverage, merchandise tie-ins, or fan gatherings. In a recent interview, actress Dominique Thorne, famously known as Ironheart, remained secretive regarding her potential appearance in the upcoming film Doomsday.
It’s worth mentioning that Nerdrotic’s predictions about John Bernthal’s Punisher being part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which was later verified by industry publications, lends credibility to any insider information he shares about Marvel Cinematic Universe events.
One possibility is that Marvel might aim to seamlessly incorporate Ironheart into their wider narrative, keeping a low profile to avoid highlighting any potential issues with its performance – maybe providing some of the cast with a subtle reset. Even Downey Couldn’t Save It
In a final effort to drum up enthusiasm, Robert Downey Jr. made an appearance on Good Morning America via a pre-recorded message, offering support to Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos while they were filming Avengers: Doomsday in the UK. This move was designed to connect Ironheart with the MCU’s golden age, but it sparked more bewilderment than anticipation among fans.
The level of interaction with the online content was quite low, and it seems that the number of viewers for this Marvel series on Disney+ is relatively small compared to most other shows in the same platform, based on Luminate’s viewing statistics.
