It’s quite unexpected! Naughty Dog has unveiled a fresh update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. This exciting development allows players to experience the entire game sequentially.
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share my thoughts on The Chronological Experience, a clever reorganization of Ellie and Abby’s thrilling journey. If you’ve had the chance to play this game before, you’ll recall that the narrative often leaps through time—a method some players found challenging to keep up with at times due to its non-linear nature.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog’s editorial content manager, Jonathan Dornbush, expresses curiosity about how it feels to live this story in chronological order. At last, we now have the opportunity to find out.
In a new sequential viewing mode, we think players will uncover even richer layers of understanding regarding Part II’s storyline. This feature allows players to witness the smooth progression of events, like Ellie receiving a guitar leading seamlessly into her learning to play, as well as the intriguing similarities in the paths taken by Ellie and Abby, such as their near encounters and the effects each has on the other. You’ll also get a glimpse of how they almost cross paths, the ways their actions influence each other, and much more.
It seems this update was achieved through a joint effort between the developer and Nixxes, who is primarily responsible for porting Sony’s first-party games to PC.
Today, you can grab “The Chronological Experience” on PS5 and PC! We’ll make sure to let you know as soon as it’s ready for download.
Additionally, this update introduces two fresh character skins for the game. You can now customize Joel and Tommy by dressing them as Nathan and Sam Drake from Uncharted, specifically in the No Return mode.
To clarify, the article similarly notes that “this update will include numerous bug corrections and speed enhancements.
