Lumines Arise will launch on PlayStation 5 on November 11th. Alongside the release date announcement, Enhance, the game’s developer and publisher, revealed a Digital Deluxe edition. This special edition includes unique in-game avatars called Loomii, as well as nameplates inspired by Enhance’s other games.
PlayStation 5 players who purchase the Digital Deluxe edition from the PS Store will also get a special bonus: Astro Bot! You can use this little robot as your in-game companion, called a Loomii.
We all know what Astro looks like, but his role in Lumines Arise has been a mystery – until now! Here’s a look at him in Enhance’s new game:

Yep, that’s Astro Bot!
The Loomii version of this character has a cool, see-through quality that makes him look almost ghostly, but otherwise he’s a very accurate representation. He even does his signature dance moves while you’re playing and building!
If you love Astro Bot, you might want to know how much it costs to get him in Lumines Arise. Here’s a price breakdown:
- Lumines Arise standard edition: $39.99/€39.99/£32.99 ($35.99/€35.99/£29.69 with PS Plus pre-order discount)
 - Digital Deluxe edition: $44.99/€44.99/£36.99 ($40.49/€40.49/£33.29 with PS Plus pre-order discount)

PlayStation Plus members who pre-order the game will receive a 10% discount – a great perk!
The Digital Deluxe content will also be sold separately as a downloadable pack. If you purchased the standard version of the game and want Astro Bot and the other exclusive Loomii items, you can get the pack for $5. Pricing for other countries hasn’t been announced yet, but we anticipate it will be around €5 or £4.

The other characters featured are T, a piece from Tetris Effect; Rez Hacker from Rez Infinite; and the Shiba Inu dog from Humanity.
You’re probably curious about how Astro Bot ended up in the game. We asked Enhance that very question during a recent interview about Lumines Arise, which we’ll be sharing soon.
Although the studio already worked with Team Asobi, the idea for this project came about more by chance than by deliberate planning.
Mark MacDonald, creative producer for Lumines Arise, explains that Astro Bot’s creation stems from a shared respect between the two development teams – both were early advocates for PlayStation VR and admired each other’s VR projects.
Enhance was one of the developers featured in the 2024 Astro Bot game, and they were honored to have two unique ‘Special Bots’ created based on their games, Rez and Humanity. MacDonald remembers being particularly pleased that the Astro Bot team asked to include content from Humanity before the game had even been released, seeing it as a strong vote of confidence. They were also proud to be one of the few studios to have two bots featured in the game.

I was so excited to hear about Lumines Arise! Apparently, the team was developing these cool avatar characters, and they really wanted to give PlayStation fans something special. They thought featuring Astro Bot would be perfect – they said he was the best fit for a cameo, which makes total sense! It’s awesome they put so much thought into making it a treat for us PlayStation players.
Things progressed smoothly after that, as Enhance’s Tetsuya Mizuguchi was scheduled to meet with Nicolas Doucet, the creative director of Astro Bot.
While we were discussing this, Mizuguchi and Nicolas happened to be on the same panel at a Sony event. I immediately told Mizuguchi to bring it up with Nicolas and see if he could help us make a connection.
MacDonald explained they jumped at the chance to connect directly with Doucet to get the project moving. While they could have gone through Sony and the usual procedures, it just happened to be perfect timing – Doucet was available that same week they were discussing it, which felt like a lucky coincidence.
He praised Team Asobi, saying they were fantastic to collaborate with and made integrating Astro Bot into Lumines Arise a very smooth process.
It’s funny, the studios already knew each other, but the way we actually started working together felt like a really lucky coincidence. It wasn’t totally planned, it just kind of happened, which was awesome!
We have more on Lumines Arise coming up soon, so stay tuned to Push Square if you’re interested.
