The latest installment in a hugely popular action series, costing $7 billion to make, has quickly become a hit on Netflix. While viewers are enjoying it, the sequel is facing ongoing delays. As of November 3rd, A House of Dynamite is currently the most-watched title on the streaming service, surpassing KPop Demon Hunters, which has fallen to No. 5. This new movie’s success comes as fans eagerly await news about the next film in the series.
Viewers around the world are still hooked on Fast X, the latest movie in the Fast & Furious saga. Starring Vin Diesel and directed by Louis Leterrier, the film is currently number 6 on Netflix’s global top 10 list, according to FlixPatrol. It’s performing better than other popular titles currently streaming, including Idli Kadai, The Woman in Cabin 10, Miracle on 34th Street, and Christmas Under the Lights.
Despite not being available on Netflix in the U.S. – where almost all of the Fast & Furious films were removed on November 1st – Fast X is currently the most popular movie in many countries. Fans in the U.S. are now looking for alternative ways to watch while they wait for updates on Fast X – Part 2.
Fast X – Part 2 Is Stuck in Development

Fast X wasn’t just a streaming hit – it was a huge success in theaters too, earning $714 million worldwide and becoming one of the year’s biggest films. Audiences loved it, giving it an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though critics were more divided with a score of 56%. Now, a sequel is planned, but it’s taking longer than expected to get it made.
Originally announced in 2023, Fast X – Part 2 – believed to be the last main film in the series – has faced significant delays. While production was initially impacted by the writers’ and actors’ strikes, progress has remained slow even after those ended. A major sticking point appears to be the movie’s budget. The estimated cost of around $250 million was too high for the studio, which requested it be reduced to approximately $200 million, requiring the filmmakers to cut $50 million from the production.
There’s still uncertainty about whether the budget for Fast X – Part 2 can be reduced, but recent signs are encouraging. In October, Vin Diesel suggested filming was moving forward after he posted a photo of himself on the Universal Pictures lot wearing a shirt indicating production in Los Angeles in 2025. He was with Michael Moses, the studio’s Chief Marketing Officer, who briefly hinted that issues had been resolved, though he didn’t elaborate.
Not much is known about the next Fast X movie yet, including the story or who will be in it. While it was first planned for release in April 2025, Universal hasn’t confirmed a premiere date. Vin Diesel has mentioned they’re now aiming for an April 2027 release.
