Embark Studios is giving 500 Raider Tokens to players as an apology for the issues during the launch weekend of ARC Raiders. High demand briefly caused problems with connecting to matches and logging in. The tokens are for players who tried to play during the particularly difficult period on Sunday, when Embark had to create a waiting queue to stabilize the game. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Embark apologized for the overload and said they’re still working to improve the game’s connection, voice chat, and login processes.
The apology came after the game launched on PC to a surprisingly large audience. SteamDB data shows that ARC Raiders peaked at about 355,000 players on November 2nd, making it one of the most popular games on Steam at that time.
If you’re curious what the grant provides, Raider Tokens are the in-game currency for cosmetic items in ARC Raiders. 500 Tokens are worth about $5. The developers want to be clear this is a thank you for your patience, and isn’t meant to replace addressing the game’s ongoing issues.
While a small payment won’t fix frustrating login issues, offering it alongside quick access, clear communication, and server improvements can help maintain player satisfaction. This is especially important now that the game has become incredibly popular on Steam.
Thanks for bearing with us while our servers experienced a brief issue on Sunday – it seems our mischievous office chicken, Scrappy, may have been at it again! As a thank you for your patience, we’re giving all Raiders who logged in on Sunday 500 Raider Tokens.
