An Emmerdale character who seemingly died last week is actually very much alive.
Fans of the ITV soap have seen April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and her boyfriend Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) manipulated by Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) into becoming involved in drug and sex trafficking.
The group intended to leave their village and begin a new life elsewhere, but they were quickly stopped just outside of Leeds and forced to go back home.

I was horrified to learn that April’s situation had gotten even worse – the people controlling her were piling on more ‘debt,’ and they told her she had to spend the night with another client. This time, they made it clear she had no choice at all, and she was forced to comply. It was truly awful to hear.
The young woman went to a house in Hotten, where her client, Callum (Max Lohan), pointed out that while she was free to leave, he had paid for her services for the whole night and would need to inform Celia if she left early.
When he started to come onto her, Amelia, terrified, hit him with a vodka bottle, seemingly killing him.
Having no one else to confide in, she had to tell her groomers what happened. Celia offered to help cover it up to protect them, while Ray went to take care of the awful mess.

Celia threatened April that if she interfered with their plan again, she would involve April’s grandfather Bob, father Marlon, and brother Dylan in a dangerous and unpleasant situation, hinting at potential harm to them all.
Tonight on the show, the teenager waited by herself in the village, fully expecting Ray to ask her to do another task soon.
As expected, he arrived shortly after and explained he was looking for drug suppliers in Newcastle. April immediately saw this as a chance to get away from him for a bit.

I just finished watching the scene where April tells Marlon she’s staying with a friend’s sister up at Newcastle University, then says goodbye to her brother, Leo, and heads off. Meanwhile, things are getting seriously tense! Out on the edge of town, Ray is secretly meeting with Callum – the guy everyone thinks she killed! I’m on the edge of my seat wondering if April will discover what’s really going on.
