Battlefield Studios is updating Challenges and Assignments in Battlefield 6. They explained in a recent social media post that they’re making these changes to focus more on rewarding skillful gameplay and less on simply grinding for long periods. The goal is to make progression feel more satisfying for players who consistently improve their skills.
The developer wants players to know that this is a continuous improvement process, and the initial updates have already been released through a server-side update. Players won’t lose any of their previous progress; it will automatically transfer to the new and improved challenges when they start a game.
Battlefield Studios announced they’ve simplified challenges and assignments, reducing the time needed to complete them. The changes are designed to reward players for consistent effort without requiring excessively long play sessions. They’ve adjusted the requirements to better match typical playtime, making them more attainable during a single gaming session.
Assignments will still offer plenty of goals for players to complete simply by playing the game. We’re also rewarding those who become truly skilled at specific parts of the game, particularly when earning unique cosmetic items. These updates to Assignments and Challenges include over 90 changes in total.
We’ve made some updates to all four classes, making their Challenges quicker to finish. For example, Assault Class Challenge 2 now only requires five squadmates to deploy on your beacon, and Support Class Challenge 2 asks you to revive sixty teammates. Weapon Assignments have also been adjusted – completing Rapid Fire 1 with an Assault Rifle now requires dealing 3,000 damage to enemies.
We’ve simplified challenges for different game modes. Now, you only need to win twice in each mode per Assignment level. We’ve also made adjustments to objective-based Assignments, like Conquest 3. For example, the requirement to get 30 objective kills in one round has been lowered to just 10.
We’ve also adjusted the requirements for Expert and Master Assignments, particularly those involving multiple kills or achieving kill streaks. For instance, the Explosives Expert 2 assignment now only requires 5 multi-kills instead of 20, and Adaptable 2 now asks players to repair 500 damage to vehicles in one life, down from 3,000.
The recent updates to Assignments and Challenges are now live, and we’ll be rolling out even more improvements soon with both automatic updates and new features in the app.
Battlefield Studios has been quick to address player concerns and improve the game. They recently tweaked how players earn experience in the new Strikepoint mode after a glitch was found. The developers explained they made these changes to ensure everyone progresses at a fair and consistent rate.
