Battlefield Just Made a Change That Will Make Rush & Breakthrough Easier for Attackers

A recent update to Battlefield 6 significantly enhances the gameplay experience for attacking players in both Rush and Breakthrough modes. While Battlefield 6 has been a successful release for EA and a step forward for the series, it wasn’t perfect. The developers at Battlefield Studios have been actively listening to player feedback since the beta test to identify areas for improvement, a process that takes time for analysis, fixes, and implementation. Along with these improvements, Battlefield 6 has received a lot of new content, including a free-to-play spin-off called Battlefield REDSEC, which finally added a battle royale mode.

The first month after the game launched was busy, but one major problem with Battlefield 6 was its challenges. Players found many of them too hard or lengthy, and some even encouraged unhelpful or detrimental gameplay. It felt like the challenges weren’t designed well and really slowed down progress. Fortunately, things improved dramatically this past week.

Battlefield 6‘s New Fixes to Challenges Just Gave a Big Advantage to Attackers in Rush and Breakthrough

This week, Battlefield Studios made significant changes to in-game challenges. They lowered the number of kills, damage points, and other targets needed to finish challenges and earn rewards. Many players found that these changes automatically unlocked challenges they’d already been working on – a welcome surprise! While some players feel the adjustments went a little too far, it’s clear the developers are focused on finding the right balance for future updates.

Before the recent update, one of the most frustrating parts of Battlefield 6 was a challenge involving the adrenaline shot. Players needed 30 kills using it, but the game didn’t always register it correctly, causing a lot of problems. Now, the requirement is only 3 kills, which unlocks the deploy beacon for the Assault class. This beacon lets you place a remote spawn point for your team, giving you a significant edge in game modes like Rush and Breakthrough.

Attacking in game modes like Breakthrough is very challenging. It’s tough to break through the enemy’s defenses. But a strategically placed deployment beacon can really change the game. If you put it behind enemy lines or to the side, it lets you respawn quickly and push towards the objective.

This change ultimately benefits attackers. The developers acknowledged that attackers weren’t winning enough matches in Breakthrough mode, and allowing players to more easily use a powerful item in Battlefield 6 will likely increase their success rate.
