Okay, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag for Halo Infinite fans. The team at Halo Studios just announced the next update – cleverly named ‘Operation Infinite’ – is coming soon, but it’ll actually be the *last* major content update for the game. They’re shifting focus to developing multiple new Halo titles, including the awesome-sounding ‘Halo: Campaign Evolved’ that was recently announced. The good news is this final update is packed with cool stuff! We’re getting a ton of new armor sets and cosmetics to earn, and there’s a free 100-tier Operation Pass. Everything drops on November 18th, 2025, so we’ve got a bit of a wait, but it sounds like it’ll be a good send-off for Infinite before the team moves on to bigger and better things.

I’ve noticed a cool new armor set in the Operation Pass called Serpin. It’s clearly inspired by the armor worn by the Honor Guard Elites from Halo 2. Apparently, within the Halo universe, this armor is actually given to Spartans by Thel ‘Vadam, the former Arbiter, as a reward for fighting alongside the Swords of Sanghelios.
Along with the new armor, they’re giving us a boost – double Career Rank and Spartan Points! That’ll make unlocking new stuff in the Exchange much faster.
And speaking of the Exchange, they’re adding over 200 new customization options, including more armor pieces. That’s on top of the Fireteam Osiris-themed sets they just added from Halo 5: Guardians, so there’s a lot to collect!
Looking ahead to the future

To conclude the update, the development team expressed gratitude to players who have enjoyed Halo Infinite. They stated, “As we at Halo Studios move forward with new projects like Halo: Campaign Evolved, we want to thank our Halo Infinite players for their continued support over the years.”
We’ve had an amazing journey with Halo, filled with seasons, events, and updates, along with new maps, game types, and tools. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community.
Looking forward, the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is planned for release in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5. I’ve already had a chance to play it and shared my thoughts, so be sure to check them out.
This is the final update for Halo Infinite, which isn’t entirely surprising. The team is moving forward by building future games on Unreal Engine 5, meaning they’re leaving Infinite behind.
I’m glad the game is in a much better state now than when it launched. I’ll definitely be playing more Firefight and Big Team Battle to unlock the new armor.
I’m excited about the possibility of multiple future Halo games. While one is likely a sequel to Halo Infinite, I can’t help but hope for a Halo Wars 3! It’s probably a long shot, but I’ll continue to dream about it, and I’ll be ending all my Halo coverage with that thought in mind. In fact, Halo Wars 3 *needs* to be made.
