Kirsten Stormsis taking an extended trip outside the town of Port Charles.
The actress known for her role on “General Hospital” (since 2005 as Maxie Jones) has announced that she’s temporarily stepping away from the series and is relocating to Tennessee.
In March, she started discussing her relocation plans and prolonged leave with executive producer Frank Valentini.
In a July 7 Instagram video, Kirsten expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards GH, ABC network executives, and the writers, thanking them for allowing her to take some time. She acknowledged that Frank and the producers at GH are aware of her reasons, and she is deeply appreciative of their understanding and support.
Despite not providing details about the reasons for her temporary absence, the actress from “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” made it clear that she was not planning to depart the series permanently.
Kirsten added, ‘When tackling a job such as this, they might say, “Forget it.” We’ll terminate your contract if you plan to move away from the state.’ However, GH didn’t do that, which was quite remarkable, since I also requested some time off.’
As she posted an update, the former star of “Days of Our Lives” – mother of 11-year-old Harper with ex Brandon Barash – advised her fans to take caution regarding any news about her being away, unless it originates directly from her.
She advised to be careful if you haven’t researched it or watched it on her page, as people often say things without proper verification.
Despite having wrapped up her yearly filming, Kirsten assured “General Hospital” viewers that they’re in store for something truly exciting while she’s away.
She mentioned that the plot they’ve developed leading up to her return to Port Charles is truly extraordinary,” she said. “I bet you’ll all be astonished! I can hardly wait to read the reactions about it online.
As I eagerly anticipate Kirsten’s comeback, let me guide you through some renowned celebrities who graced the small screen of soap operas before they became a familiar face in every home!
Indeed, one of the globally recognized film actors made his debut in spoken dialogue on the show “Another World“. He portrayed a young basketball player for just two episodes. It’s fascinating how someone starts from such humble beginnings and eventually earns an Academy Award.
In one scene of the soap opera “All My Children,” Elizabeth Banks made an appearance, playing a waitress who was being flirted with by Josh Duhamel’s character. This episode originally aired in 1999, a couple of years prior to her role in the beloved film “Wet Hot American Summer.
Few people realize that Leonardo DiCaprio, now a Hollywood icon, had roles on popular sitcoms like “Roseanne” and “Growing Pains” before he became famous for his role in “Titanic.” In fact, he even made a guest appearance on the soap opera “Santa Barbara” in a brief flashback sequence back in 1990.
Prior to achieving screen icon status, Demi Moore spent a specific period (specifically 1982-83) acting on the soap opera “General Hospital.” Her role was that of Jackie Templeton, a tenacious New York City investigative reporter determined to locate her lost sister.
In 1988, the Academy Award winner also received a Daytime Emmy Award for her role as the long-lost half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes in the soap opera “As The World Turns”.
On the television show “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” the host portrayed Hayley Vaughan from 1990 to 2002 on “All My Children.” It was during this time that she encountered her real-life spouse, Mark Consuelos, who, coincidentally, played her on-screen husband on the program as well.
Before becoming the notorious mob boss character in Riverdale, Mark Consuelos initially achieved his major debut on All My Children in 1995.
Before becoming Uncle Jesse on Full House, John Stamos was previously known for playing the role of teenage rocker Blackie Parrish on General Hospital.
The actor who plays a role in Jupiter’s Legacy began his career in soap operas, portraying Leo du Pres on All My Children. Tragically, his character met an untimely end due to a bizarre waterfall accident.
Starting a career can be quite an exciting venture, especially when you land a role like playing a passionate wife who was institutionalized for attempting to harm her lover’s original spouse. Eva Longoria seized this opportunity on “The Young and the Restless” from 2001 to 2003.
Prior to winning hearts as Elizabeth James in ‘Parent Trap’, a young actress named Lindsay Lohan portrayed the charming character of Alli Fowler on the soap opera ‘Another World’ from 1996 until 1997.
At the age of 18, Ryan Philippe played the character of Billy Douglas on the soap opera “One Life to Live,” marking a significant milestone by becoming the first-ever portrayer of a gay teenager on daytime television.
Between the years 1996 and 2001, the actor portrayed the initial version of Lizzie Spaulding on the television series Guiding Light, in Nashville.
Susan Sarandon played the principal role in the television series “A World Apart” from 1970 to 1971, appearing in all 325 episodes as the primary character, Patrice Kahlman.
Justin Hartley is famously known for portraying the charismatic character Kevin Pearson in the television series “This Is Us”, and interestingly, his professional life appears to mirror his personal one. Prior to captivating viewers on “This Is Us”, Hartley made a name for himself on the soap opera “Passions” and later won over audiences with his roles in “The Young and the Restless”.
Currently, Chrishell Stause is a real estate agent on “Selling Sunset”, but prior to obtaining her realtor license, she acted in every single line for “The Days of Our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless” before that.
Naomi Watts, who is most recognized for her role in the thriller “Mulholland Drive,” actually began her acting career on the show “Home and Away.
Michael B. Jordan demonstrated his acting prowess on the critically-adored drama “The Wire”, which later led to him securing a desired role as teen Reggie Montgomery on “All My Children”. However, Chadwick Boseman initially played Reggie, but he departed after allegations of reinforcing stereotypes. Michael B. Jordan ended his stint with “AMC” in 2006 and subsequently appeared in “Parenthood”, eventually winning over audiences with performances in “Black Panther” and “Creed”.
You developed a romantic interest in him, who is famous as the charming crime-solving mystery writer Richard Castle from “Castle”, but he initially gained fame portraying beloved character Joey Buchanan on “One Life to Live” from 1994 to 1997.
The Dr. Death star was a high schooler with a secret in Ryan’s Hope for 20 episodes in 1985.
Previously, before her roles as a Desperate Housewife, Linda on Everwood, or eccentric Kimberly Shaw on Melrose Place, the character portrayed by her was a fiery archaeologist named Katheryn “Kate” Sanders. This role put her between Cord and Tina on One Life to Live from 1986 to 1987.
Morpheus started his acting career when he was a teenager, spending three years on the television series “One Life to Live“, portraying Joshua Hall.
The Melrose Place star first captivated audiences as Sammy Jo Dean in Dynasty from 1981 to 1989.

Taye Diggs, who had previously achieved Broadway success with shows like “Rent” and “Chicago”, made his television debut on the soap opera “Guiding Light” in 1997.
Prior to her role in “Mean Girls”, Lacey Chabert was widely recognized for her appearances on the TV series “Party of Five” and the daytime soap opera “All My Children”.
Although Colin Egglesfield charmed both Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin in Something Borrowed, many soap opera enthusiasts already recognized him due to his role as Joshua Madden on All My Children from 2005 to 2009, even before the success of the 2011 romantic comedy.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows: During my stint on the popular soap opera ‘All My Children’, I portrayed Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character, Erica Kane’s long-lost daughter named Kendall Hart. Due to her troubled past, which included being a product of rape and feeling abandoned by her mother, Kendall was driven by a desire for vengeance. This led her to actions such as confining her younger sister in a crypt and attempting to win over her stepfather’s affections. In 1995, I too departed the show, taking with me my Daytime Emmy award.
The iconic film star began his career in TV, with soap operas Ryan’s Hope and Another World.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must confess that Ted Danson has discovered his ideal haven in the realm of soap operas! For decades, he’s captivated audiences on shows like Somerset and The Doctors, showcasing his exceptional talent.
