Injuries are common in professional wrestling, and each year, several performers are sidelined. 2025 has seen a particularly high number of injuries, especially in WWE. Many Superstars are currently recovering and their return to the ring will significantly improve all three of WWE’s main programs. Here’s an update on who is currently injured in WWE, along with estimated return dates, starting with those who were injured most recently.
14. Sol Ruca

As a big fan of Sol Ruca, I was really bummed to hear about her injury. Details have been pretty scarce, but it looked like a knee issue – she was sporting a brace and using a cane when she shared the news on NXT. Sadly, it seems like it’s going to keep her sidelined for a while. She had to give up both her NXT Women’s North American Championship and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, and now those titles have new holders. I’m hoping for a speedy recovery for her!
It’s positive that WWE is still using Ruca in her storyline with Zaria on television. They’ve also told Blake Monroe, the current NXT Women’s North American Champion, that Ruca will get a championship match when she returns, as she never officially lost the title. This suggests her time away won’t be too long, and hopefully she’ll be wrestling again soon.
13. Seth Rollins

Earlier this year, Seth Rollins surprised fans with a storyline about an injury. It turned out to be a trick, allowing him to unexpectedly use his Money in the Bank contract to challenge and defeat CM Punk, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Sadly, he then suffered a genuine injury shortly after becoming champion.
Seth Rollins was injured during his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. He completed the match, but later needed surgery on his shoulder, which will keep him out of action for a significant period. This led to a shocking betrayal by Bron Breakker, as he and The Vision turned against Rollins. While Rollins is currently expected to return by the end of the year, recovery from surgery can be unpredictable, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
12. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens had a great run of matches at the beginning of the year, but he unfortunately had to cancel his WrestleMania 41 match against Randy Orton due to a neck injury. He needed surgery to fix the problem, and reports say the surgery was successful.
Unfortunately, it will be a while before wrestling fans see Kevin Owens compete again. Neck injuries need careful recovery, and he’s expected to miss WrestleMania 42 and be out of action for at least a year. If his recovery goes perfectly, he might be back in the ring around late July or August next year, but the most important thing is that he fully recovers.
11. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair, a major star in professional wrestling, suffered a broken left finger during her match at WrestleMania 41 against Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley. The break, which occurred at the joint, is taking longer to heal than a typical broken finger.
As a wrestling fan, it’s frustrating to hear about Bianca Belair’s injury. It sounds like it’s a tough one that’s going to take a long time to heal, and honestly, it’s looking like we might not see her back in the ring until 2026, or even later. There’s no official word on when she’ll return yet, but that’s the earliest estimate I’ve seen, and it’s a bit disheartening.
10. Zoey Stark

During the May 19th episode of Monday Night Raw, Zoey Stark sustained significant knee injuries – including a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus – while attempting a move against Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane. She had to leave the match right away, and doctors estimate she’ll be unable to wrestle for at least a year due to the severity of the damage.
Stark announced on social media that her surgery went well and she’s recovering, though it will take a long time before she can wrestle again. She likely won’t be back in the ring until at least the middle of 2026, and we’re sending her our best wishes for a quick recovery.
9. Chad Gable

Chad Gable was prominently featured on television during the El Grande Americano storyline, but his run was cut short by an arm injury that needed surgery. He had successful surgery in July, and while he’s recovering, it’s currently unknown when he’ll return to the ring. There haven’t been any updates on his recovery process, so fans are hoping to see him back for events like the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, or WrestleMania 42.
8. Brinley Reece

Brinley Reece injured her shoulder in March, probably while wrestling at a live event – it was the last time she competed for NXT or Evolve. She had successful surgery in May, but there’s been no update on her recovery timeline, so it’s currently unknown when she’ll be able to return to wrestling.
7. Adriana Rizzo

Adriana Rizzo injured her knee in April, and tests showed she had torn both her ACL and meniscus. She later shared that she’d actually been dealing with a partially torn ACL for about a year and a half, but the new tear required surgery.
She’s recovering well and recently shared an update on her progress online, marking four months since the start of her recovery. Although she won’t be back in action for some time, it’s encouraging to see her doing better. Experts currently estimate she’ll be able to return around early to mid-2026, based on a year-long recovery timeline.
6. Piper Niven

Piper Niven recently suffered a neck injury. She hasn’t wrestled since winning her match against Charlotte Flair on the August 22nd episode of SmackDown. While the exact nature of the injury is unknown, some reports suggest it could be serious, though there’s still hope for a future return. There’s currently no timeline for when she might be able to wrestle again, and we wish her a speedy and complete recovery.
5. Jacob Fatu

During a rivalry with Drew McIntyre on SmackDown, Jacob Fatu was taken off television after a brutal attack by McIntyre. The attack, which showed Fatu bleeding, seemed to confirm reports that he had suffered a legitimate, though undisclosed, injury. While the exact cause hasn’t been made public, sources say the injury isn’t related to wrestling.
It looks like Fatu will be sidelined for an extended period, with current estimates pointing to a return sometime in 2026. This likely means he’ll miss events like the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. However, there’s a possibility he could be healthy enough to compete at WrestleMania in April.
4. Elton Prince

One member of the wrestling duo Pretty Deadly is currently injured after an incident on the June 20th episode of SmackDown. While the exact nature of the injury hasn’t been announced, Kit Wilson, Prince’s tag team partner, has confirmed that the team remains together and plans to resume their activities once Prince recovers.
Prince doesn’t have a confirmed return date yet, but Wilson is currently performing as a solo competitor on SmackDown. WWE traditionally hasn’t featured one half of a tag team on television while their partner is injured, but they’ve started doing so more often recently, first with The War Raiders and now with Pretty Deadly – and it’s a positive development.
3. Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews injured his chest muscle during a match against Johnny Gargano on the January 31st episode of SmackDown. He had surgery in February and has been recovering, but recently hinted that he might be returning to wrestling sooner than expected.
As a huge wrestling fan, I was so excited to see Terry Crews post a video of himself training in the ring just last month! It definitely looks like he’s gearing up for a return to WWE, and I’m really hoping we’ll see him back on TV before the year is out, or maybe early next year. It’ll be fantastic to have him back!
2. Gunther

Ring General Gunther hasn’t been seen on WWE television since SummerSlam when he suffered a broken nose and fractured eye socket during his match with CM Punk. Since then, WWE hasn’t released much information about the extent of his injuries or how long he’ll be out.
There’s a strong possibility Gunther will be John Cena’s last opponent before he retires, with their match expected at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. If this happens, Gunther might appear during the tournament to determine Cena’s opponent, which begins next week on Monday Night Raw. Either way, it’s likely we’ll see Gunther back on screen before the year is over.
1. Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan suffered a separated shoulder during a match against Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw in June, forcing her to miss a scheduled match against Nikki Bella at Evolution. This injury also prevented her from defending the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships with Raquel Rodriguez, so Roxanne Perez filled in to defend the titles instead.
There’s encouraging news about a potential return for Morgan. Recent reports suggest WWE is optimistic she’ll be medically cleared to wrestle again in early 2026, and possibly even sooner. Depending on the timing, she might be able to compete at the Royal Rumble in January or at Elimination Chamber in February. The ultimate goal is to have her back for WrestleMania 42, and fans are eager to see her return to the ring.
