Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc delivers the intense action and gore fans expect from the anime, focusing on a brutal conflict between the Chainsaw Devil and the Bomb Devil. However, beneath the destruction, the film is a love story. It explores the complicated relationship between Denji and Reze, and the obstacles – particularly the lingering influence of Makima – that stand in their way. As a follow-up to the series, the movie offers a glimpse of what could have happened if these characters had found the happiness they deserved.
Please be aware this article contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc. The movie revealed that Reze, who Denji hoped to build a relationship with, was actually the Bomb Devil. She fought Denji, aiming to take the Chainsaw Devil’s heart, in a major anime battle. Sadly, Reze was killed by Makima and her team, ending the threat of the Bomb Devil while Denji mourned her loss at the place where they first connected. In Japan, MAPPA is now giving a special gift to moviegoers who see the film in theaters.
A new artwork depicts Denji and Reze as high school students, imagining a peaceful future for them after their complicated relationship. Called “Denji & Reze Instant Photo Style Card,” the piece shows them celebrating entering high school. It’s currently only available in Japan, but fans are hoping it will be released in North America soon, given the series’ popularity. You can see the artwork below.

Rev The Engine for a Chainsaw Future
It’s currently unclear if the Chainsaw Man anime will continue after the fight with the Bomb Devil. While there’s still a lot of content from the original manga that hasn’t been adapted, Studio MAPPA hasn’t announced whether they’ll create another movie or a second season. Given the story that follows, it seems unlikely that everything could be covered in a single film.
Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series has been full of surprising turns since the anime film’s release, and the newest chapter is causing a buzz with a shocking development. The story currently shows Denji battling the War Devil, who has shockingly turned the entire state of Michigan into a weapon – a giant sword! These kinds of moments are bound to be spectacular when Studio MAPPA adapts them into animation.
