‘We All Want Skate to Be Great’: Skate Dev Pledges Improvements After Early Access Launch Issues

Skate fans finally got what they’d been asking for after years of hoping for a new game in the series. EA released Skate – a free-to-play game – in early access last September.

The game has gained millions of players, but this sudden popularity is causing some challenges for its developer, Full Circle.

The development team posted a message thanking the community for all its support, feedback, and enthusiasm, while also welcoming constructive criticism.

We’ve had a few bumps in the road recently. More players joined us in the first few weeks than we anticipated – millions, in fact! – and that caused some problems like bugs, glitches, and difficulties with game progress and performance.

Full Circle recognizes there have been some problems for players getting early access, and they assure everyone they’re working to improve things. They also want to remind players that this version isn’t the finished game.

Developing skate. requires a careful balance. We’re focused on releasing new content we’ve planned, making the game more enjoyable overall, and responding to what players tell us. We’re constantly adjusting and fixing things – sometimes quickly, and sometimes with bigger updates planned for the future. You can expect the game to keep evolving and getting better.

Players have been running into issues where they get stuck or can’t continue in the game, and the development team is focusing on fixing these problems. Some solutions will be released before others.

So, the devs are saying they’re not just squashing bugs, they’re really focused on making sure the game feels good to play. When Season 2 hits, they’re planning to tweak how we level up and get rewards. Basically, they want to make the season pass less of a grind and give us better stuff for our time. Sounds awesome, right?

We’re sorry for the rough start to the game! Full Circle is giving all players 2000 Tix and 500 SVBs as an apology. Just make sure to log in before Season 2 begins on December 2nd to get yours.

This seems like a positive move, and we hope the team can respond quickly and use player feedback to maintain their interest.
